Greetings and enormous thanks!
When we believe the world is our neighborhood, we are able to reach out and achieve so much! Thank you to the Bashaw School Gym Enhancement Committee. Thank you to those that participated in the creation of the gym enhancement vid-eo. Thank you to all who reached out and shared, then requested others vote for our submission into the Aviva Community Development Fund. This allowed a population of just under 900 people to compete against large cities for votes and come out on top with the most votes. This then takes our Bashaw School gym expansion project into the final phase and hopefully win-ning the last fund raising dollars needed for the gym. We will find out December 7th if our application was selected.
Our drama programs are well underway with both Jr and Sr High students getting to know the music, and developing intention and movement with their characters. I really enjoy seeing them discover and explore the stories within the relationship of the characters interactions with one another. We are fortunate to have a lot of involvement and input as we are getting some stu-dents with years of experience and ideas to contribute.
After a two year delay with the Roots Of Empathy program we are able to go ahead this year and bring our littlest teacher back into the school. Our little teacher is Roots baby, Colt Jacobs. He is the son of Jaelayne and Loren Jacobs. Colt will be helping the grade four class learn social skills and empathy throughout the year by watching him grow. The students learn that babies develop and reach milestones at their own rate and that we each have different responses and reactions depending on our tem-perament. The most important learning comes from a place of love, compassion and empathy. We are really grateful for Ja-elayne, Loren and Baby Colt for coming into our school and sharing themselves with us.
The Discover Meaning program has been implemented for literacy support with several Jr High students. It is a program that was designed to strengthen reading comprehension for older learners. Students practice making and describing mental images for various types of information. The information could be from short paragraphs of non fiction to school related information they might encounter in their school work. Students will also develop strategies for note taking, studying for tests and listening for targeted information during lectures.

There have been some staffing changes this month. Miss Dakota will be starting her
maternity leave on December 1. We are going to miss her very much and wish her
the best in the upcoming months! Some new ladies have joined our team too. Miss
Nicole, who comes from Mirror, joined us back in October. Miss Lorrie, who joined
us recently, has previous day care experience and lives near Ferintosh. And finally,
Miss Angela, comes to us from Pelican Point. Please feel free to chat for a bit to be-
come acquainted.
We would also like to thank Angela Muise for her recent donation of a new stove for
