  • PREFACE

    The scientific meetings o 4 th National Conference on Optics and Spectroscopy o 1st Korea-Vietnam Joint Symposium on Quantum Photonics and Nanophysics o International Workshop on Photonics and Applications (IWPA-2006)

    were successfully held in Can Tho, Vietnam from August 15 to 19, 2006. There were 258 participants in these meetings including the foreign scientists

    from Korea, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, and Russia. These scientists from widely varying disciplines in physics, materials science, biology and chemistry came together to share their common interest in optics, photonics, spectroscopy and their applications. In the conferences, total 153 papers were presented in Plenary Sessions and 04 parallel sessions.

    The Advances in Optics, Photonics, Spectroscopy and Applications have published the papers presented in these conferences and, in particular, they were selected by the editorial committee with a standard referee procedure. Among them 30 papers were selected for publication in the ASEAN Journal of Science and Technology for Development.

    The successes of these conferences were due to the contribution from all the conference committees, sessions and the participants.

    ZnO (km oxit) l vt liu bn dn c nhiu c tnh qu gi nh vng cm

    thng ( rng 3.3 eV ti nhit phng), xc sut chuyn mc quang hc cao, bn

    vng trong mi trng hir, nhit nng chy cao (1750 oC), khng c v gi

    thnh r. Chnh v vy, ZnO c quan tm nghin cu t rt sm v tm

    c nhiu ng dng nh lm vt liu hp th tia t ngoi trong kem m phm,

    thuc st trng, vt liu xc tc trong ho hc iu ch methanol Thi gian

    gn y, cc nghin cu v vt liu ZnO, c bit l ZnO dng cu trc nano (ht

    nano, dy nano, thanh nano, nanotetrapod ) li cng tr nn si ni v hp dn

    hn do n ha hn nhiu tnh cht mi v kh nng ng dng to ln trong cc lnh

    vc quang in t, ho hc, sinh hc. Cc hiu ng pht laser v cc linh kin pht

    quang (LEDs) vng t ngoi c to ra trn c s vt liu ZnO cu trc nano

    [1,2,3]. Tuy nhin, cho n nay, cc tnh cht pht quang ca vt liu ZnO vn cha

    c hiu y , cn l ch ca nhiu tranh lun v s tip tc thu ht s tp

    2. Thc nghim

    Vt liu ZnO trong bo co ny c ch to bng phng php bc bay nhit

    trong khng kh vi vt liu ngun l bt km (Zn) kim loi t 900 oC. Sn phm

    vt liu thu c l mt lp bt mu trng tinh khit chiu dy khong 0,5 mm bm

    u trn b mt silic (SiO2/Si). Chi tit ca qu trnh ch to c bo co

    ti liu tham kho [8]. Chng ti lu mt iu l vt liu ZnO trong bi bo ny

    c to thnh trong mi trng giu hi km kim loi, v vy kh nng hnh thnh

    cc v tr km in k, hoc cc nt khuyt xi s l ln. Cc loi khuyt tt ny c

    th ng vai tr l dono v lm cho ZnO l bn dn loi n.

    Sn phm vt liu ch to ra c kho st bng knh hin vi in t qut SEM

    (JEOL JMS-5410LV, c km chc nng o ph phn gii nng lng EDS), nhiu

    x k tia X (Brucker D5005). Cc ph hunh quang v kch thch hunh quang o

    ti cc nhit khc nhau t nhit phng (300K) xung 14 K c thu nhn bi

    ph k hunh quang FL3-22 Jobin-Yvon gm hai h n sc cch t kp 1200

    vch/mm, nh sng kch thch n sc bc sng 335 nm ( 3.7 eV) c ly t

    mt n xenon cng sut 450 W. Mu vt liu trn silic, php o hunh quang,

    c gn trong mt cryotstat ca s thch anh, nhit c h thp v iu khin

    bi mt h my nn kh Heli chu trnh kn v b iu khin nhit LakeShore

    330-Autotuning.

    3. Kt qu v tho lun

    nh SEM trn hnh 1 cho thy mu vt liu ch to ra c hnh thi cu trc dng

    tetrapod, mi tetrapod c 4 chn hng cn xng ra 4 pha khng gian, ng knh

    u ca mi chn trong khong 80 nm n 300 nm, chiu di mi chn l trn 10

    micromet. Ton b lp vt liu mu trng bm trn b mt Si/SiO2 u c hnh

    thi ng nht dng tetrapod nh trn hnh 1. Lp vt liu ny c tip tc

    tnh c s cho vic phn tch cc ph hunh quang (PL) v ph kch thch hunh

    quang (PLE) ca mu vt liu ZnO cu trc nanotetrapod.

    Ph PL o ti 14K ca mu ZnO nanotetrapod c ch ra trn hnh 3 cho thy

    c mt nh pht x hp ti 3,3658 eV, bn rng ca nh l 14 meV. nh pht

    x mnh v rng hp chng t mu ZnO nanotetrapod c cht lng quang hc

    tng i tt. Ph PL v PLE ca nh pht x vng xanh l cy o ti 14K c v

    cng trn th (b) ca hnh 3 cho thy cc nh pht x vng t ngoi (UV) c

    ngun gc t cc ti hp b vng trong tinh th ZnO.

    ZnO nano-tetrapod hnh thnh trong iu kin giu hi km, nh cp phn

    trc, s l c c s khi cho rng trong s cc exciton t do c hnh thnh (XA)

    c nhiu exciton lin kt vi donor trung ho (D0X) v to ra nh pht x hp

    nhit thp. Nng lng lin kt ca cc exiton lin kt thng khng ln (c t

    vi meV n 20 meV), nh hn nng lng lin kt ca exciton t do trong ZnO

    (60 meV), v vy nh D0X s gim nhanh khi nhit tng, nh c th hin trn

    hnh 5. n nhit 100 K hu nh khng cn nhn thy du vt ca D0X trn ph

    PL. ng thi vi s gim ca nh D0X l s xut hin r hn ca nh exciton t

    do XA (n=1) b vai pha nng lng cao ca D0X trn ph PL. Hin tng ny l

    kt qu ca vic D0X khi b phn r do kch thch nhit s chuyn thnh exciton t

    do v dono. C th nhn thy kh r v tr nh pht x ca exciton XA (b vai) trn

    cc ph PL ti nhit 50, 70K (hnh 5,6). nh pht x XA (n=2) vi nng lng

    ln hn XA (n=1) l 42 meV ph PL o ti 14K trn hnh 4 c qui cho ti

    hp ca exciton t do A trong trng thi kch thch u tin. Nu tha nhn m hnh

    nguyn t hir cho exciton t do, t hiu nng lng ca mc kch thch th nht

    v mc c bn ta c th suy ra nng lng lin kt ca exciton A l 56 meV. Kt

    qu ny ph hp vi nghin cu ca nhm tc gi [10]. T hnh 5 c th thy rng

    nh XA (n=1) dch dn v pha nng lng thp khi tng nhit v vn cn tn ti

    n nhit phng. nhit cao, nh XA trn ln vi nh BF trnh by di

    y.

    Theo nhng thng tin tt nht ca chng ti, cho n nay vn cn nhng kt

    lun khc nhau xung quanh ngun gc ca nh pht x m c chng ti k hiu

    l BF trong cc ph PL (hnh 4, 5, 6). C hai ngun gc khc nhau chnh c qui

    cho nh BF l: (1) do lp li phonon ca ti hp pht x exciton t do XA (mt s

  • tc gi cho l lp li phonon TO, s khc cho l lp li phonon LO) [4,5], (2) do ti

    hp in t-l trng t mt mc lin kt (l mc dono hoc accepto) vi l trng

    hoc in t t do [6,7]. Chng ti nghing v cch l gii th hai. So snh ph PL

    ti hai nhit 50K v 70K trn hnh 6 thy rng cng nh XA gim trong khi

    cng nh BF li tng. Thng thng th nh pht x lp li phonon phi gim

    theo nh pht x khng phonon.

    Vt liu ZnO nanotetrapod trong trng hp ca chng ti c d on l c

    cc ph PLE, iu ny cng ng h thm

    gi thit ca chng ti v ngun gc ca

    nh BF.

    4. Kt lun

    Vt liu ZnO cu trc nanotetrapod c ch to bng phng php bc bay

    bt km kim loi trong khng kh th hin tnh kt tinh tt, sch cao, kh nng

    pht hunh quang mnh. Ph hunh quang ca vt liu c phn tch v t

    rt ra ngun gc ca nh pht x t ngoi ti nhit phng l s tng hp ca ti

    hp exciton t do, ti hp ca in t lin kt vi tm dono vi l trng t do

    vng ho tr v cc lp li phonon ca chng. Mt s tnh cht hunh quang ca vt

    liu ZnO cu trc nano vn cn l vn m v cn c quan tm nghin t m

    hn.

    PHOTOLUMINESCENCE OF ZnO

    TETRAPOD-LIKE NANOSTRUCTURE

    Abstract: Tetrapod-like nanostructure of zinc oxide material has been grown on silicon

    substrates by thermal evaporation method from zinc metal powder as the source material.

    Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) clearly showed each of the ZnO tetrapod-like

    structure composed of four legs (rods) with diameter in range of 80 300 nm and length of

    more than ten micrometers. X-ray diffraction, and energy dispersive spectrum (EDS)

    measurements gave the results indicated the good crystallinity and high purity of the

    fabricated ZnO nanostructure. The photoluminescence spectrum measured at 14 K showed

    a sharp and dominant emission line at 3.365 eV with full-with at half maximum of 14

    meV, other ultraviolet peaks at 3.312, 3.238, 3.167, 3.095 eV and a broad, weak peak at

    around 2.5 eV. In order to interpret the origin of the emission peaks of the ZnO

    nanostructured material, the photoluminescence and photoluminescence excitation spectra

    were measured in the temperature range from 14 K to the room temperature.

    Trong nhng nm gn y, vt liu ZnO thu ht s ch ca nhiu nhm

    nghin cu bi cc tnh cht qu bu cng nh kh nng ng dng ca n [1, 2].

    Trong bi bo ny chng ti trnh by cc kt qu nghin cu tng hp vt liu

    Zn1-xCoxO bng phng php thu nhit (x = 0,01 v 0,10), cc tnh cht cu trc,

    hnh thi hc v hunh quang cng nh kch thch hunh quang ca chng.

    2. Thc nghim

    Cc mu Zn1-xCoxO (x = 0,01 v 0,10) c tng hp t Zn(NO3)2. 6H2O,

    Co(NO3)2. 6H2O theo t l mol Zn2+

    : Co2+

    = (1-x) : x. Quy trnh tng hp ca cc

    mu c m t theo s hnh 1. Ly 3,00 g Zn(NO3)2. 6H2O v 0,65 g CO(NH2)2

    ho tan hon ton vo 175 ml nc ct hai ln. Cho vo hn hp dung dch 5,09

    ml Co(NO3)2 0,02M vi mu x = 0,01 hoc 5,56 ml Co(NO3)2 0,2M vi mu x =

    0,10, khuy u trong 30 pht. B sung mt lng dung dch NaOH 10M, C2H5OH,

    khuy u v nng nhit hn hp dung dch ln 150oC. Gi nhit trong

    30 pht, tip tc nng nhit hn hp dung dch ln 200oC. Sau khi t n nh

    nhit trong 5 pht, li h nhit hn hp dung dch xung 150oC v gi

    trong 25 pht. Sau qu trnh ny thu c sn phm kt ta mu xanh. Mu x = 0,10

    c mu xanh m hn so vi mu x = 0,01.

    Cu trc tinh th ca mu tng hp c xc nh qua gin nhiu x tia X

    (XRD Brucker AXS D5005). Hnh dng v kch thc ca cc mu c xc nh

    qua nh SEM (SEM JEOL 5410 LV). Ph hunh quang v kch thch hunh quang

    ca cc mu c kho st ti cc nhit khc nhau trong di 15K 300K (FL3

    22 Jobin Yvon Spex), ngun kch thch l n xenon 450W.

    3. Kt qu v tho lun

    Vi x = 0,01, mu tng hp l cc thanh mc ra t mt im trng nh nhng bng

    hoa. Trong mu ny bao gm hai loi hoa, c trng bi hai loi cnh c hnh dng

    v kch thc khc nhau. Mt loi di khong 5 m, ng knh trung bnh c 800

    nm (hnh 3a1). Loi cn li di khong 3 m, ng knh c 170 nm (hnh 3a2).

    Vi x = 0,10, mu tng hp bao gm cc thanh ri rc, di khong 2 m vi ng

    knh c 170 nm (hnh 3b).

    Ph hunh quang ca mu Zn1-xCoxO (x = 0,01 v 0,10) tng hp c kho

    st trong di nhit 15K 300K vi cc nng lng kch thch khc nhau. Tn

    hiu hunh quang thu c nm trong hai vng, vng mt thuc di 2,10 eV 3,45

    eV, vng hai thuc di 1,65 eV 2,00 eV. Trc tin, tp trung nghin cu tn hiu

    hunh quang thu c trong vng mt. Hnh 4a a ra cc ph hunh quang ca

    mu ng vi x = 0,01, kch thch ti 3,815 eV, o cc nhit khc nhau. Ti

    nhit 15K, trn ph hunh quang quan st thy 2 nh pht x hp 3,368 eV,

    3,312 eV v mt nh pht x di rng c cc i 3,201 eV. Khi nhit tng,

    cng ca cc nh hunh quang gim v v tr nh dch v pha nng lng

    thp. nhit 50K, trn ph hunh quang xut hin mt nh mi 3,242 eV. Tng
