Windows Phone Statistics Report

The Lumia 520 is still the most popular device worldwide but the 630 and 635 are together also very popular.Microsoft’s Lumia 435, 640 and 640 XL have also made a noticeable presence in a number of markets.

We look in detail at Mexico, UK, Spain, Russia, India and Vietnam.

This report is based on data collected from 5,331 Windows Phone apps runningAdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). The raw data analyzed was collected over the day ofJuly 22nd, 2015 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated.

We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model namesunder their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare modelname variations were not accounted for.

AdDuplex is the largest cross-promotion network for Windows Phone and Windows Store apps and games empowering developers and publishers to promote their apps for free by helping each other. The big story here is the Lumia 640 entering the top ten in fourth position, just ahead of the 520 which was in third last month.Changes of note are:The 521 is down 1.1%The 520 is down 0.8%The 530 is down 0.7%The 928 is down 0.6%

Plus, just as it was last month, the “Other” group is up 1.3%.

There’s no change in the order here this month but there have been the following percentage changes. Most notable of which are the increases for MetroPCS and Boost Mobile.

We last looked at Mexico two months ago and in that time there’s been a big change at the top.The 520 is down 5.4%The 535 has also increased more than 3% to enter the top ten in sixth place.The other point of note is the “Other” group which has grown by 3.2%

Since May, the 520 has slipped from the top spot (down 2.9%) and overtaken by the 635 (up 1.4%).Other changes of note is the 535 which is up 2.5%The other biggest changes are the 625 (down 1%) and the “Other” group which is up 0.8%

Here the 640 has entered the top ten for the first time this month and the 535 has the biggest other increase or 1.7%

The wide variety of devices available in Russia continues to be reflected in the growing “Other” category which is up another 2.7%.

We last looked in depth at Vietnam in November 2013. Back then the 520 was the most popular device. It still is the top device and it’s share is only down 4.5%The 625 and the 720 are the other devices that are still in the top ten 20 months later.

The top ten is dominated by the cheaper devices and the 535 makes an appearance here too.
