Moving Forward as an Outward-Bound Church Thank you to all who braved the elements last Sunday to attend St. Mark’s second synodal process meeting. There was a lot of very fruitful discussion among the many enthusiastic participants. The synodal process team (Fr. John, Margie Voisin, Michelle Jones and Barry Engelhardt) is compiling a summary of the input from parishioners and will be presenting it at the next PPC meeting and reporting back to parishioners. In next week’s bulletin will be an outline of ways to be involved in reaching our goal of becoming a more outward-bound parish. These may be through offering further suggestions or by volunteering in various new initiatives. Thanks again and watch for more updates in the bulletin. Baptism Preparation The second session for baptism preparation will take place on Tuesday, January 21, and the baptisms will be celebrated at masses next weekend, January 25 and 26. For upcoming preparation sessions, parents can register on our website at www.stmarksaylmer.ca (under sacraments, then baptism) or by contacting the parish office at (819) 684-6926. Please share this information with friends and family members who may want to join us at future sessions. A Warm Welcome to New Parishioners Welcome to those who want to make their faith-home here with us. You may be new to Aylmer, or you may have been away for a while. Be assured that we would love to have you among us! We would appreciate it if you introduced yourself to one of our hospitality ministers, or to Fr. John. It would also help if you could take the time to fill out a registration form, which you can get from a hospitality minister. The next time you are with us, you can drop off the registration form in the collection basket; give it to one of the hospitality ministers or to Fr. John. Welcome! Message from the Knights of Columbus Mark your calendars for our next family dinner on Saturday, February 8. As this is just before Valentine’s Day, the theme will be AMORE and the menu will be Italian. More information will be available soon. Liturgy of the Word for Children during the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses One of the ways we help children in our parish to become active participants in the liturgy of the Word is to celebrate it with them in the Children's Liturgy room. In that space, we do the same thing that the adults are doing – we read the readings together, reflect together on the readings, profess our faith, and raise up in prayer the needs of our world. We then come back to the church for the Eucharistic prayer. All children between the ages of 5 and 12 are welcome.

Message from the SSVP We had our first soup kitchen in our parish hall this week and it was enjoyed and appreciated by quite a few attendees. This is a new initiative by St. Mark’s Conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and we plan to have it every second and third Tuesday of the month, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
