Welcome to the 2014 Autumn / Winter Active Rutland Activity Guide. This season sees the nights draw in and the weather getting colder, so whilst it may be tempting to stay in and watch TV, we hope this guide motivates you to stay healthy, fit and active.
Our new look brochure covers a huge range of traditional and non-traditional sports and physical activities that are available to adults, from yoga to cycling and martial arts to sailing. No membership fees apply unless otherwise stated.
If you’re new to the area or want to try an activity that you’ve not had any previous experience of, look out for the ‘Learn to’ courses or National Governing Body Programmes as these are informal and a great way to meet people who are in the same boat.
It’s always a good idea to contact the person organising the session or programme to check the details in this Guide are still correct and find out further details before you go.
Active Rutland welcomes feedback on the Guide and we’d love to hear from other community minded agencies who want to promote their activity in the next edition (Summer 2015).
Don’t forget that the Annual Community Sports Awards are being held on Wednesday 12 November 2014 at Greetham Valley Hotel, Golf and Conference Centre. If you know someone who has achieved remarkable things this year, please go onto the ‘Sports Awards’ section of the Active Rutland website to nominate them for an award. The deadline for nominations is Friday 10 October 2014.
