Academy News
30th November 2018
It is official—Christmas has started at
Carbrooke. The tree is up and looks
totally amazing with all the children’s
decorations on it. Hilarious hair has
been just as it sounds—hilarious!
A busy week—shadow puppets, year 3
visit to Ancient House, new
Interactive Boards for each
classroom and some completely
amazing children staff and parents!
Headlice…
Once a week
Take a peek
As you know, we highly
subsidised the residential visit—
by over £40 per child. Some
fundraising took place last term
towards this, but with 42
children attending, we have a bit
more to do! The money from the
school cinema night, the disco
and part of the Christmas Fair
proceeds will go into paying for
this. What other suggestions
does your child have for us to
spend money on in school? We
have to put ideas to the school
council next week.
The Christmas Fair is almost here! Next
Friday, from 2pm. We have some amazing
prizes for the raffle—donated from local
companies, businesses and friends. Prizes
include a 1 month membership at Full Fitness
Gym, Cinema Vouchers for both Dereham
and Norwich cinemas, Family Bowling,
Swimming, two £25 hampers, a Christmas
table decoration and many other
prizes. If you are unable to
attend on the day, please see
Mrs Wheeler to buy your tickets
in advance. £1 per strip / 20p
per ticket.
You can also ‘buy’ a square for a
money prize—£1 per go.
Immunisation letters went home for all
children, Year R-5. The immunisation team
are in on Tuesday next week (4th Dec) so
please return these on Monday. Your child
will not receive the immunisation without
the written consent form.

Please note that we are due an

Christmas Plans
On the day of the Fair we would really like to have some helpers to
either set up, clear up or help run stall with the children. If you are
able to volunteer, please let the office know.
Christmas Post Box will be available from Monday 10th
December. Please make sure the name and year group of the
child is on the front of the envelope.
Decorate a jar competition!
Design a Christmas themed jar and fill with treats for the
Christmas fete tombola.... there will be a small prize for the most
festive designs!
Jars will need to be in by Thursday 6th Dec. If anyone is in need of a jar
please let me know as we do have some spares available. Rosie Wright
Christmas Parties
The school Christmas Parties will be on Monday 17th Dec. We are
asking the children to bring some parties clothes in (in a named
bag) to wear. The party will be held from 11-1, so we are asking the
kitchen to provide party food that day. If your child normally has a
home packed lunch, please send in a food contribution for the
party—savoury donations from boys, sweet from girls please.
Drinks are being donated by Britvic—many thanks!
We have lots of brilliant stalls for the Christmas Fair on Friday next
week. Please collect your child, from 2pm to attend the fair, visit
Father Christmas and perhaps enjoy a hot drink and a piece of
cake. We have children offering to help on a class stall—fantastic
ideas by each class. Children will not be permitted to leave school
until 3:15pm so please do not ask to take them before this time. If
you are unable to attend but would like your child to go, please
send some money in a named purse, and we will send them round
with a member of the school team.
Please do remember that class teachers are the first port of call with
issues regarding your child. They can be seen, by prior arrangements, at a mutually convenient time.
If you would like to come in and talk to a member of the Senior Leadership Team please ask the office staff to book you a time. Please note, it is also possible to ask for a telephone discussion if this is more convenient.
End of Term
We will be holding two church
services in the last week of term.
Monday 17th is a Carol Service, lead
by Key Stage 2 children. It starts at
6pm. Please let school know if you/
your child are not able to attend. All
children and families are welcome.
On Tuesday 18th we have a
Christingle service at 2pm. All
welcome.
