Ruffed Grouse Society Announces 2011 Wisconsin Drummer

Fund Projects

Eleven Habitat Projects Approved For Funding.

Ruffed Grouse Society

Coraopolis, PA --(Ammoland.com)- The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS)

will be providing financial support for eleven habitat projects during

2011 via its Wisconsin Drummer Fund.

The projects are designed to benefit habitat for ruffed grouse, American

woodcock and wildlife species like deer and songbirds that rely upon

young forests for survival.

Partners receiving RGS funding this year for projects in Wisconsin

include the USDA Forest Service, the Wisconsin Department of Natural

Resources (DNR), the Jackson County Forestry Department, Douglas

County Forestry Department, Wood County Forestry Department and

Florence County Forestry and Parks Department.

According to Mike Zagata, RGS President and CEO, “RGS is

pleased to work with a variety of Wisconsin partners to

continue to support important wildlife related projects across

the state. Since 1985, RGS has contributed over 750,000

dollars to fund 85 projects in 40 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties.

Our dedicated chapter members have worked hard to provide

the funds that enable RGS to support these important

projects that benefit both hunted and non-hunted wildlife.”

The Wisconsin Drummer Fund was initiated in 2010 with over $53,000

from chapter fund raising events and member donations being made

available to support grouse and woodcock projects in 2011.

Wisconsin Drummer Fund Projects approved for 2011 include:

• Barron County Alder Management – Wisconsin DNR

• Bell Mound Ruffed Grouse Management Area Establishment –

Jackson County Forestry Department

• Clam River Fishery Alder Management – Wisconsin DNR

• Colburn Wildlife Area Early Successional Habitat – Wisconsin

DNR

• Dell Creek Wildlife Area Habitat Improvement – Wisconsin DNR

• Duck Lake Hunter Walking Trail Development – Florence County

Forestry and Parks Department

• Hunter Walking Trail System Restoration in Oconto and Forest

Counties – USDA Forest Service

• North Central Wisconsin Early Successional Habitat – Wisconsin

DNR

• Potato Creek Wildlife Area Woodcock Management – Wisconsin

DNR

• Ruffed Grouse Management Area Access Improvement – Douglas

County Forestry Department

• Wood County Wildlife Area Aspen/Alder Regeneration – Wood

County Forestry Department and Wisconsin DNR

Drummer Fund went through a thorough evaluation. Projects

high consideration. The $53,000 being provided by RGS is

being matched by other agencies with a total of just over

$103,000 projected to be spent to complete these eleven

projects.”, said RGS coordinating biologist Gary Zimmer.

Established in 1961, the Ruffed Grouse Society is the one international

wildlife conservation organization dedicated to promoting conditions

suitable for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and related wildlife to

sustain our sport hunting tradition and outdoor heritage.

Smith & Wesson WelcomesDisabled Veteran To ShootingTeamAPR 29, 2011 03:31P.M.

Smith & Wesson Welcomes Disabled Veteran To Shooting

Team

Blackhawk Pilot Trevor Baucom Joins Team S&W at NRA Convention.

Smith and Wesson

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--(Ammoland.com)- Smith & Wesson Corp.,

announced today that Texas native Trevor Baucom, a former United

States Army Chief Warrant Officer #3 (CW3) and Blackhawk helicopter

pilot, has joined the ranks of Team Smith & Wesson as the Company’s

first disabled veteran shooter.

During a special ceremony in the Smith & Wesson booth at the National

Rifle Association (NRA) Annual Meetings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,

Baucom will be introduced as the newest member of the team and will

discuss his plans for competing in the upcoming NRA Bianchi Cup.

With a distinguished service record of 13 years in the United States

Army, Baucom is pending a medical discharge after he was injured in a

helicopter crash while serving in Afghanistan during his fourth

deployment. The injury, which occurred during a nighttime assault

mission, left the Blackhawk command pilot paralyzed from the waist

down.

Once back in the United States, Baucom began his rehabilitation in

Franklin, Tennessee, where he met “Shooting USA” host Jim Scoutten.

From there, a friendship was formed and an idea spawned on getting

Baucom introduced into the competitive shooting arena. With the help of

industry partners Smith & Wesson, Safariland and Atlanta Arms &

Ammo, the 31-year-old began training with the goal of taking on the

courses of fire at the 2011 NRA National Action Pistol Championship,

heads-up against able-bodied competitors.

“It’s hard to put into words just how phenomenal this whole

experience has been,” said Baucom. “The support from the

industry has been overwhelming and at times I find myself

still trying to grasp it all.”

In preparation for the NRA Bianchi Cup, Baucom has received

instruction from one of the industry’s top competitive shooters, Billy

Abbate with Atlanta Arms & Ammo. During the competition, Baucom

will be using a Smith & Wesson M&P9 Pro Series pistol that he has been

training with extensively for the last month. While the NRA Bianchi Cup

will be Baucom’s first competitive shooting event, the avid hunter and

recreational shooter is more focused on enjoying the experience than

wondering what his score will be once the match has concluded. That

being said, Baucom has an intense competitive drive and is training

diligently to improve his x-count with each practice sessions.

“For me, this is all about breaking down barriers,” said

Baucom. “I have never been one to sit still for very long and

this opportunity presents a unique challenge for me to push

my abilities. I hope that my participation will lead to other

wounded warriors taking an interest in competitive shooting

and that more matches like the Bianchi Cup will take a look at

how they can open up spots for other disabled shooters.”

On Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Smith & Wesson booth

(#1713), Trevor Baucom will be officially introduced as part of Team

Smith & Wesson. Team Captain Julie Golob will be on site to present

Baucom with his official team shirt and there will be opportunities to

take photos of the newest team member and his gear. Please make plans

to stop by the Smith & Wesson booth at that time and give your support

to Baucom as he prepares for his upcoming match.

Elon University Skews Poll OnConcealed HandgunsAPR 29, 2011 03:21P.M.

Elon University Skews Poll On Concealed Handguns

Elon University Skews Poll On Concealed Handguns

Grass Roots North Carolina for Firearms Education

North Carolina --(Ammoland.com)- A poll released last week by Elon

University* purports to show little public support for expanding North

Carolina’s existing concealed handgun law into parks and restaurants, as

proposed under House Bill 111.

However, the misleading and inaccurate phrasing of poll questions

suggests that the researchers either haven’t read HB 111, or are woefully

ignorant of North Carolina gun laws.

INACCURATELY PHRASED QUESTIONS:

“[Do you agree/disagree with] permitting people to carry

handguns in restaurants and bars.”

Facts:

• No pending bill would allow “people” - meaning anyone – to carry

handguns in restaurants and bars. Rather, HB-111 is strictly limited

to allowing concealed handgun permit holders to do so.

• Individuals covered by HB 111 have been verified by their sheriff as

law-abiding citizens who have proven they are trained in the law

and proficient with their weapons.

• These people have passed criminal background checks and had

their fingerprints cleared by the FBI.

*123456* Lineitem #123456, tabblo #1, page 6 (6 of 21), generated 2011-04-30 02:13:47.773510 on g1t0247, dpi=225

Page 7: AmmoLand Gun News April 30th 2011

Today’s Tabbloid PERSONAL NEWS FOR [email protected] 30 April 2011

7

• The sheriff has verified they are not alcoholics or substance

abusers, and in the case of veterans, were honorably discharged.

• This class of people - who number approximately 2% of North

Carolinians - have proven, over the past 16 years, to be

responsible, prudent, safe, and overwhelming law-abiding.

• A similar question skewed results on “people” carrying concealed

handguns in parks when, in reality, the parks provision too would

apply only to concealed handgun permit-holders.

OMMITTED INFORMATION

* The question on restaurants omits at least two major

qualifying conditions: That those carrying handguns are

prohibited from consuming any alcohol, and that individual

restaurants have the ability to ban the carry of handguns on

their premises.

SAMPLING BIAS

* Although the Elon poll found that 42.4% of respondents

owned firearms, earlier polling of North Carolina residents

found a far higher gun ownership rate of 56%,** suggesting

a sampling bias against lawful gun ownership.

Employee Guns & Parking LotLegislation Set On HouseCalendar HB 681APR 29, 2011 02:15P.M.

Employee Guns & Parking Lot Legislation Set On House

Calendar HB 681

HB 681 Set on the House Calendar for Monday, May 2nd.

Texas State Rifle Association

Houston, Tx --(Ammoland.com)- This session of the Texas Legislature

marks the 4th session that TSRA and NRA have worked to pass

legislation allowing the legal possession of firearms in a personal, locked

vehicle parked on an employer’s parking lot.

Employers argue this legislation infringes on their private property

rights but we submit that corporate policies prohibiting the possession of

firearms in employee vehicles violate workers’ 2nd Amendment Rights

and conflict with state and federal statutes permitting law-abiding

Texans the right to transport firearms in their personal vehicles.

Monday, May 2nd, the struggle could finally be decided. Three times the

Texas Senate passed a bill in their chamber only to have it die in House

Calendars Committee, never making it to the floor of the House for

debate and final passage.

The House Calendar for Monday, May 2nd, General State Calendar, lists

HB 681 by Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt (R-Lexington). Rep. Kleinschmidt and

joint authors: Rep. Charlie Geren, Rep. Rick Hardcastle, Rep. Ryan

Guillen, and Rep. Allen Fletcher are ready for the last push. They are

joined by 94 House members who have signed on as co-authors in

support of the bill.

Still we need your help. We need you to call your state representative

with this message:

TSRA members strongly opposes any amendments to HB 681 that

exempt certain industries or impose restrictions and carve-outs on

groups of employees who wish to store legally-possessed firearms in

their own locked vehicle while parked at work.

Don’t stop working now! Industry lobbyists are hard at work for their

bosses and you could be the loser.

Click on this link for a list House members and their contact district and

Capitol phone numbers. Then click on their name for their home page

and email address.

Remember TSRA is about membership. We need your help to protect

Texas gun owners. Go to www.tsra.com or call 512-615-4200

Keep the Faith

Sincerely, Alice Tripp

Texas State Rifle Association

About:

The Mission of the Texas State Rifle Association is to protect and defend

the inalienable rights of the individual Texan to acquire, possess,

transport, carry, transfer ownership and enjoy the right to lawful use of

Montana Shooting Sports Association

Missoula, MT --(Ammoland.com)- We lost the suppressor bill, HB 174,

when the supermajority needed in the House on the vote to suspend the

rules and accept a late bill from the Senate failed to achieve the required

67 votes. However, SB 124, which generally clarifies FWP-related laws

clarifies that the prohibition on suppressors in the field or forest only

applies “while hunting.” So, we got half a loaf for suppressors in SB 124.

Permitless carry, HB 271 finally passed the Senate on Third Reading and

now goes to the Governor for his signature. When our large Self Defense

Bill, HB 228, was introduced in the 2009 session, it contained a

permitless carry provision. That provision was lost in the legislative

process. When Governor Schweitzer signed HB 228 in 2009, he

commented that he wished permitless carry was still in the bill. So, we’re

hopeful that the Governor will sign HB 271 from this session.

That’s all for now. The Legislature is adjourned. I need wiskey, a three-

day nap, and to go burn some powder.;

2011-12 Arizona Hunting & Trapping Regulations Available

Online

AZ Game and Fish is now accepting applications for the lottery-style

drawing process.

Arizona Game and Fish Department

PHOENIX, AZ – -(Ammoland.com)- The Arizona Game and Fish

Department today announced that the 2011-12 Arizona Hunting and

Trapping Regulations are available online at www.azgfd.gov/draw and

the application period for the draw is now open.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 7 p.m. (MST) is the deadline to submit an

application for a hunting permit issued through the draw for deer, fall

turkey, fall javelina, bighorn sheep, fall buffalo, and pheasant.

Those submitting an application are reminded that postmarks do not

count and there is no online application process available.

Applications must be either hand-delivered to one of the seven Game

and Fish offices or sent by U.S. mail to:

Drawing Section

Arizona Game and Fish Department

PO Box 74020

Phoenix, AZ 85087-1052

The 2011-12 Arizona Hunting and Trapping Regulations contain

information on how to fill out an application, how the draw works,

license requirements, hunt numbers, season dates, number of permits

available, and other pertinent information for the hunter.

Another valuable online resource for hunters when applying for a permit

is the Hunt Arizona: Survey, Harvest and Draw Data guide. This book

contains nearly 200 pages of information on species and hunt areas

including the odds of being drawn, harvest success rates, and more.

To aid your application process there is a digital editable PDF application

that can be typed using a computer and then printed, signed, and

submitted to Game and Fish. Alternatively, print a blank copy of the

form, fill it out using an ink pen, and then submit in the same fashion.

Regardless of how you fill or submit your application, be sure to apply

early and take advantage of the correction period. Here is how it works:

If your application has a mistake and is received before May 27 at 5 p.m.

MST, Game and Fish will attempt to call you three times in a 24-hour

period and give you the opportunity to correct the mistake. After that

date, mistakes can cause your application to be rejected.

Printed copies of the regulations are anticipated to be available at all

Game and Fish offices the second week of May (9-15).

To learn more about the drawing process, hunting season dates and

more, visit www.azgfd.gov/draw.

Youth deer hunting camps

Kids ages 10-17 can learn to hunt deer from experienced sportsmen at

hosted hunting camps. These camps help young hunters and their

families reconnect with the outdoors and learn about the hunting

heritage. Each camp offers expert instruction on hunting, safety,

camping, game care, and other useful information for first-time hunters.

To enjoy one of these camps, apply for a tag for the hunt number for the

camp that best fits your schedule and location:

• Wickenburg area, Nov. 18-20: Apply for hunt number 1165,

juniors-only deer.

• The Unit 42 Juniors Deer Camp is hosted by Wickenburg

sportsmen and local businesses.

• Wickenburg area, Nov. 18–20: Apply for hunt number 1155,

juniors-only deer.

• The Unit 20C Juniors Deer Camp is hosted by Youth Outdoors

Unlimited.

• Green Valley area, Nov. 18–20: Apply for hunt number 1163 or

1164, juniors-only deer.

The Unit 36A/36B Juniors Deer Camp is hosted by the Arizona Chapter

of Safari Club International. These hunts are eligible for a corresponding

javelina tag (see below).

Two hunts, same area, same season

To give kids twice the reason to go hunting this season, Game and Fish is

offering a javelina tag in some of the juniors-only deer hunts. The hunts

that qualify are hunt numbers 1159, 1160, 1163, 1164 and 1177 (general

hunt areas include units 28, 29, 30A, 30B, 31, and 32 for one hunt; 33;

36A; 36B; and a 16A muzzleloader hunt). The companion tag (restricted

nonpermit-tag, population management hunt) can be purchased over-

the-counter from Game and Fish offices for $15.

Buy a ticket, support wildlife

To increase your odds in getting a big game tag, and possibly one of a

lifetime, take part in the Arizona Big Game Super Raffle. There are 10

special big game tags (issued by the commission) and every dollar raised

for these tags goes directly towards management projects that benefit

that species in Arizona. Winners will be able to hunt for 365 days almost

anywhere in the state of Arizona during a special 2011-12 hunting

season. Tickets range from $5-25. For more details, order form, and

deadlines, visit www.azgfd.gov/draw.

Arizona Hunting & Trapping Regulations 2011-12

The Arizona Game and Fish Department does not receive any of the

state’s general funds to operate. Wildlife conservation and management

of the state’s game animals, which also benefits many non-game species,

is made possible through a user-pay, user-benefit system. Funding from

the direct sale of hunting and fishing licenses, big game tags, and

matching funds from the Pittman-Robertson Act, a federal excise tax

that sportsmen pay on guns, ammunition and related equipment, remain

the backbone of wildlife conservation in North America.

Anti-Gun Groups Hijack Hearing & Mislead Listeners with

Phantom Amendments

As Oregon government schools testify that law abiding Oregonians

need to be disarmed, we were struck with a horrifying thought. These

people are teaching our children.

Oregon Firearms Federation

Salem, Oregon --(Ammoland.com)- Today’s Senate Judiciary

Committee “hearing” was another display of the paranoia of the anti-

liberty crowd.

Although the meeting was supposed to be a hearing on three good gun

bills, it was, in fact, nothing more than theater arranged by, and for, the

anti-gun rights, government school establishment.

In an unusual “informational meeting”, the opponents of gun rights were

given a virtual monopoly on public testimony, but more, they were given

information provided to no one else and the opportunity to testify at

length before anyone from the pro-freedom side had a chance to

respond. While limited and abbreviated testimony was taken from a few

pro gun citizens, no one from OFF or NRA had a chance to testify in spite

of the fact that they were “signed in” before almost everyone else.

The meeting followed a format we have never seen before. The

“informational meeting” took center stage but no pro-gun people had

any insights into exactly what the meeting was about. Strangely, that was

not true of the people who testified on behalf of the government schools.

They repeatedly voiced their support for “amendments to HB 2797.”

2797 is the bill that clarifies lawful carry of handguns on motorcycles,

ATVs and snowmobiles. The “amendments” clearly outlawed CHL

holders from being on school property. Oddly, only the government

school representatives seemed to have actually seen these

“amendments.”

Even one member of the committee asked what these

supposed “amendments” were, since he had not seen them

either.

After repeated references to these amendments. the chair of the

committee, Floyd Prozanski, informed the audience that “there were no

amendments to any of the bills” being heard today. But even after he

said that several times, more representatives of the government schools

referred to the “amendments to HB 2797.”

It was quite odd that numerous people who worked for the state school

establishment testified in favor of amendments to a specific bill that

would outlaw CHL carry on school property, but no one else saw these

amendments and the Chair insisted they did not exist. Someone is not

being very forthcoming.

Although we were told that the “informational meeting” would cover

guns in schools, rights restoration for people with felony convictions, and

“mental health issues” it was clear that the focus was on licensed carry at

schools. It was also clear that the anti-gun school establishment was

privy to inside information denied to everyone else.

The government school reps trotted out all the same paranoid cliches

they have been relying on for years. School superintendent Susan

Castillo testified that guns in schools were a dangerous proposition and

illustrated her position by citing Columbine, Thurston High School and

Virginia Tech. When asked if any of those shooters were concealed

handgun license holders she admitted they were not, but the schools did

not want to “wait “until a CHL holder opened fire on a class full of

children. (Hey, it could happen, right?) Of course, just as every CHL

holder is a potential mass murderer, every public school teacher is a

potential child molester. So clearly we need to address that issue.

Ginny Burdick demonstrated, once again, her perennially addled state by

testifying that CHL holders could not be trusted in schools because they

did not have the extensive training that police have. She went on to

illustrate her point by citing data from the New York City Police

Department which concluded that NYC cops rarely hit their targets.

This is an interesting argument. On the one hand, the anti-gun crowd

does not want to recognize the CHLs from other states because they may

not meet Oregon’s lofty training requirements. On the other hand, we

cannot trust CHL holders in schools because they have such paltry

training requirements.

Of course, over and over, the anti-gun mouthpieces complained about

the carnage caused by guns in schools. And over and over they were

asked if any of the people who were responsible for violence in schools

were CHL holders.

The number of problems involving CHLs according to the

anti-liberty zealots? Er…uhh…oh…none.

After listening to multiple representatives of the Oregon government

schools testify that the most law abiding Oregonians need to be disarmed

because of the acts of the most criminal Oregonians, we were struck with

a horrifying thought. These people are teaching our children. There have

been few more compelling arguments for homeschooling than today’s

testimony.

If you are a public school teacher, you should know how you are being

represented in Salem. If you are a parent with children in the public

school system you should know how your children are being

propagandized.

In spite of Prozanski’s repeated denials, there would seem to be

amendments to one of the gun bills to, once again, dredge up the failed

efforts to ban CHL holders from being on school property. Why we are

allowed to be in malls, parks and even the Capitol, but we can’t be

trusted to pick up our children from school is never answered by the

school union reps, the School Superintendent, or the orchestrated and

delusional members of the government school monopoly.

Either the teachers’ union or the Chairman of the committee is lying

about the phantom “amendments” to 2797. The hearing ended with no

testimony from any member of the gun lobby. Prozanski announced that

he would pick this hearing up again next Tuesday. If the deck will be

stacked again then, we cannot say. It is clear however, that there is an

effort to butcher the pro-gun bills that passed the House with wide

margins.

By combining the ranging ability of Leupold’s Special Purpose Reticle

(SPR®) with the quick acquisition of the Leupold Circle Dot reticle, the

CM-R2 provides the flexibility necessary on the modern battlefield or 3-

gun course. The CM-R2 preserves the instinctive fire capabilities of the

Circle Dot for the short-range, low-magnification needs of the CQB

warfighter and competitive multi-gun shooters.

The CM-R2 is designed to allow the shooter to focus more attention on

the target and less attention on the reticle. A boldly illuminated 0.5 MOA

dot surrounded by a 5.0 MOA semi-circle enhance the shooter’s focus

and combine precision with speed when the target is up close and

personal. Hash marks on the horizontal stadia are calibrated for leading

moving targets at 5, 10 and 15 mph, respectively. Vertical tic marks allow

users to estimate ranges based on 18” wide targets at increasing ranges,

while also providing precise holdover points for targets between 300 and

900 meters.

With a quick 1.5 revolutions “lock to lock,” the rapid adjustment speed of

the HAMR’s eyepiece helps get the shooter in focus and on target in

short order. The addition of a DeltaPoint allows the user to quickly shift

from the reflex sight to the HAMR, transitioning from close quarters to

longer ranges with speed and ease.

Leupold’s Xtended Twilight Lens System provides superior light

transmission for the best low-light performance, particularly in the

blue/violet light of dawn and dusk. The system produces an extremely

bright, sharp image across the HAMR’s visual field. Combined with a

constant 2.71 inches of eye relief, the optical system is much more

forgiving and effective than first-generation optical sights.

A flat-top Picatinny mounting system is included with each HAMR. It is

compatible with any rail mounting system. Other features include 0.10

mil click adjustments for windage and elevation, and a F88 5.56mm

Bullet Drop Compensation (BDC) dial.

Ready for deployment, the Mark 4 HAMR comes in a matte black finish,

weighs 17.2 ounces and is 5.6 inches long. The scope is waterproof, fog

proof and shock proof.

JACKSONVILLE, Florida –-(Ammoland.com)- Safariland, a BAE

Systems line of business, announced the release of five new Specialty

Impact models in its Defense Technology brand.

Designed for corrections officers and tactical teams, these point-of-

speed, spin-stabilized projectiles for optimum energy dissipation.

Smokeless powder is used as the propellant, yielding consistent velocities

and accuracy at extended ranges. These new extended range models can

be fired from a variety of 40 mm launchers, ensuring optimum accuracy

at ranges between 10 to 70 meters. These rounds are commonly used in

situations where maximum deliverable energy is desired to incapacitate

an aggressive, non-compliant subject.

The Direct Impact Extended Range Munitions consist of a plastic body

and a crushable foam nose containing an OC, CS, Inert, or Marking

payload that disperses upon impact with the target. Deformation of the

foam nose helps to dissipate the impact energy. Each variant of the

extended range family is distinguished by its nose color and material.

The eXact iMpact Extended Range Munitions consist of a plastic body

and sponge nose that ensures even energy delivery without inducing

serious injury.

The LE Direct Impact Extended Range Munitions incorporate

refinements to the original military design developed in 2005, which

featured the performance of the most comprehensive non-lethal human

effects assessment in the industry. These included human injury

potential assessment by Wayne State University using the 3-Rib Ballistic

Impact Dummy, a biomechanical surrogate of a human rib cage. Other

tests included penetration assessments using a validated ballistic gelatin

penetration surrogate, and back face signature measurements in clay

according to the NIJ 0101.04 testing methodology.

The testing results were used to develop the optimum combination of

less-lethal performance and effectiveness when deployed by trained

professionals.

Both the LE Direct Impact and eXact iMpact Extended Range Munitions

offer options that will fulfill multiple needs across a wide operational

range. Available for order now, MSRP is as follows:

Direct Impact Extended Range eXact iMpact Extended Range

• OC 6320LE $28.50

• Sponge Round 6325LE $28.50

• CS 6322LE $28.50

• Inert 6323LE $27.00

Ruger SR-556E CarbineIntroduced by Ruger &CompanyAPR 29, 2011 10:27A.M.

Ruger SR-556E Carbine Introduced by Ruger & Company

A Value-Priced “Essential” Two-Stage Piston Driven Carbine with a

Lightweight, Adaptable Handguard.

Ruger SR-556E Carbine

Ruger Firearms

Southport, CT --(Ammoland.com)- Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc.

(NYSE: RGR), is pleased to announce the introduction of the new Ruger

SR-556E, a value-priced derivative of the popular SR-556.

The new SR-556E features Ruger’s patent-pending two-stage piston and

multi-stage regulator that runs cooler and cleaner than traditional AR-

style rifles.

The Ruger SR-556E comes equipped with a new, lightweight, adaptable

handguard which provides multiple options for mounting optics and

other accessories.

This new, round handguard features a full-length Picatinny rail at the

12:00 position, which aligns with the rail on the flattop receiver.

The handguard also accepts sections of rail or handguard covers,

available at ShopRuger.com, which allow the user to configure the

handguard to their exact requirements while minimizing size and weight.

The SR-556E still offers the basic features that make the Ruger SR-556

family a success. The two-stage piston operating system runs cooler and

cleaner than gas driven rifles, and the multi-stage regulator allows the

operator to tune the rifle to the specific ammunition.

The cold hammer forged 41V45 barrel provides outstanding accuracy

and longevity. The barrel is threaded 1/2-28 and is capped with the

Ruger flash suppressor. The regulator, piston and piston bore are

chrome plated, the transfer rod is nickel-Teflon coated, and the balance

of the rifle is hard coat anodized or black oxide treated.

Ruger SR-556E Carbine Brochure

The SR-556E also features an A2-style pistol grip, ships with one 30-

round Magpul PMAG magazine, and is packed in a soft-sided carry case.

Sights, rails, handguard covers, magazines and other accessories for the

SR-556E are available at www.ShopRuger.com
