Foundation

Axens, an IFP Energies nouvelles Group company, was created in 2001 through themerger of Procatalyse Catalysts and Adsorbents Company with the Technology Licensing & Service Division of IFP Energies nouvelles. This combination provides asingle-source offering of technology, products and services, and enables us to respond more efficiently to customer needs.

Axens is recognized as a worldwide technology benchmark for clean fuels production,aromatics production and purification, conversion processes and sulfur-recovery catalysts via the Claus process. Operational Organization

Axens’ organization is based on three Business Units:

• Process Licensing (PL) – technology licensing, engineering design, technical services and performancefollow-up;

• Catalysts & Adsorbents (PCA) – development, manufacturing and sales of these products, technicalservices and follow-up;

• Performance Programs (P2) – advanced control, plant optimizations, operator training programs andsimulators, performance benchmarking, consulting, and various studies such as bankability studies.

Axens’ Business Units (PL, PCA & P²) are supported by the Maketing, Technology and Technical Servicesdepartments and the corporate functions (Finance & Information Technology, Legal Affairs and Human Resources).

To satisfy our customers’ needs for the best catalysts and adsorbents, Axens has manufacturing facilities at Salindres, France, specialized in catalystdevelopment and production, in the USA - Savannah, Georgia, Calvert City, Kentucky, andWillow Island, West Virginia - and in Canada at Brockville, Ontario, which give us better flexibility tosupply our markets worldwide.

These plants manufacture a constantly evolvingslate of over 200 products. Through regular investment, the installations are maintained in thestate-of-the-art readiness necessary for productionof high technology catalysts and adsorbents.
