History of our school
The institution was opened in 1898. It was transformed into a
field hospital in 1914
It is a 120 years old building, we tried to preserve the atmosphere of that time.
There are sixty teachers, and more than six hundred students from six to eighteen years old. We arrive at about 8 and we finish the lessons at about 2. Our lessons take 45minutes. We have subjects like: Maths, Hungarian literature, grammar, I.T, History, Music, Art, Geography, Physics, Chemistry. We can learn German,English or even French as a foreign language.
National HolidaysOctober 23rd we remember the decleration of the Hungarian Republic
March 15th when we commemorate the events of the
Hungarian Revolution and War of Independance of 1848-49
October 6th
Our Traditions in pictures Advent, Santa Claus, Christmas are celebrated within classes, we usually have Christmas party in the school, when we get our presents from our friends and clasmates. After that we have usually a two-week long winter holiday.
To popularise our school we have Open doors and Family day, when primary school students or children from kindergarden with their parentscome to our school, visit lessons, play games, have the opportunity to feel the atmosphere.
On Luca-day the school- corridors become a market place. The classes prepare with small gadgets, cookies and drinks for sale.
Burning of ‘kiszebáb’ which is a puppet with magic
power. It chases away the winter. We prepare a straw- puppet and set a fire on the school yard. We use tools and instruments: rattles, whistles, drums, and noise making objects. It usually works.
Telepy-day and the traditional Sport day mean sport or other intellectual competitions for classes and we spend our school-day on completing different tasks.

Summer Camp – Balaton
During the summer holiday we have a one-week camp at lake
Balaton. It is a good opportunity to get to know each other.
Being healthy or being and acting as environmentally-conscious
students are also important for us. In our classes we have containers for paper, plastic or can, so we can collect waste seperately. We also have paper-collecting competition twice a year.
Be environmentally conscious
If you are not a sporty person, you can also find your interest in
Dancing, drawing, music
Telepy is specialised in Sport. In the primary section children have at least 3 or 5 P.E lessons a week. So sport is more important than in any other schools As it encourages us to experience many roles for responsibility. We are identified as part of a team and encouraged to develop team work, delegation, support and mentoring.
PLAY FOR SPORT, PLAY FOR LIFE ‘sport should be accessible for everyone’
In our school teachers create opportunities for gifted and talented students in PE and sport to develop their potential, achieve in their learning in both school and sport experiences and develop life skills.
