Mr Troy Grant MP visited our school this week and met with Years 5/6 to present a book about the his‐tory of NSW Parliament. Mr Grant toured the school and commented how neat and tidy it looked. He was impressed by how friendly students were and acknowledged their manners. Mr Grant asked a number of questions to which the students responded. INVITATION Our Education Week assembly will be held at the school hall commencing at 9:00 am this Thursday. All parents and friends are invited to attend and enjoy student performances. The theme for 2012 is NSW Public Schools – creating the Future.

and are expected to be in full school uni‐form. Parents are asked to check their child’s uniform to ensure that they are ready for this event. All students will travel by bus to the venue and stay as a group with their teachers. Parents may take their child home after the performance and final adjudicator’s report. Our school instrumental group perform on Friday 10 August and our choirs are per‐forming on Monday 13 August.

Congratulations Claire Smith, Boudicea Blatch and Ethan Monk for achieving a GOLD Achievement Award. Six students have progressed to GOLD in our merit system.

Congratulations Lola Giblett who was awarded a Principal’s Reading Challenge Award at our primary assembly. Lola has read the required number of books and was awarded a novel of her own choice to keep. Students enter the challenge by signing up with Mrs Gavin in the library.

Year 12 students commenced their Trial HSC exams today. We wish Caley, Nata‐sha and Gavin all the best and hope they achieve high marks in all subjects.

Our Education Week church service was held on Friday. All students were in at‐tendance. The theme was “What is Great” and some students presented at the service. Many thanks to Bronwyn Johnson who organised the service.

School Evaluations (surveys) are cur‐rently being prepared for parents. Your response is important and highly re‐garded because it communicates to us our strengths and areas of improvement that need to be addressed to improve educational outcomes for all students. You will receive all surveys by mail and they are required to be returned by a due date.

“Glam it up Girls” for Years 10 – 12 was last Friday. The program was well re‐ceived and the girls enjoyed their day.

On our school notice board are new pho‐tos of our current School Captains, SRC and sporting House Captains.

Our first performance for the Wellington Eisteddfod is Verse Speaking K‐6 on 7 Au‐gust. All primary students will be on stage


KIDZ QUIZ The Quiz is for students to test their general knowledge. All students are invited to complete the quiz and hand it in at the office by Thursday each week by 3.20 pm. Babysitting is the most common job undertaken by 12‐15 year olds in NSW with 21% working as babysit‐ters.
