Historically, Bunkie’s economy was driven by the railway station as it served as the connection between Bunkie and the world, and the area gave birth to its industrial roots economy. The rich soil of the area provided an abundance of agricultural products such as sugar cane, cotton and corn. This agricultural growth sparked the evolution with major business, and most recently the 142.8 acre LED Certified Industrial Park Industrial Park.
