The MESSENGER
Volume 4, Issue 6
June 2016
Can you believe
summer is already
here? Wow, time
continues to fly!
This is such a fun
season for many of
us, right? Kids are
out of school, family vacations, swim-
ming, back yard barbecues, camping,
boating, and more! We are taking a
family vacation to the beach in July
and doing many of the things I just men-
tioned. I am really looking forward to
this time, and I know that many of you
are too.
With all of the activities to be a part
of however, this can also be a time
where many of us disappear from our
church family. We miss a Sunday or two
because of vacation and all of a sud-
den it just seems a little bit easier to stay
home the next week. Of course, if you
have put your faith in Jesus for salvation,
the great thing is that He will be with you
wherever you go since He lives in you.
And as you surrender yourself to Him
each and every day, He will be your
Source for life during all of the various
things you have planned for the sum-
mer.
So I want to encourage you to sur-
render to Him as you go on vacation
and spend time with family and friends.
Allow Him to be the Center of your va-
cation and time with others. Pray with
your family and friends, have devotion-
als when you are with your family and
away from church. Look for ways to be
a part of Jesus’ Kingdom work even
while you are on vacation.
At the same time, continue to stay
connected to your church family as
much as you can. Hebrews 10:25
says, “Let us not neglect our meeting
together, as some people do, but en-
courage one another.” God knows
that Satan loves to take the oppor-
tunity when we are away from other
believers to disrupt our lives and keep
us from living from our true Source. So
God puts other people in our lives for
encouragement and to point us to
keep our eyes fixed on Him. Don’t
miss out on the opportunity to corpo-
rately worship together and be en-
couraged this summer.
Also, it is no secret that as many of
us miss Sunday worship from time to
time, we also miss the opportunity or
forget to give financially to the King-
dom work God is using this church in.
We have made commitments as
members to give to the general
budget and to the Freedom Initiative
and want to follow through with those
commitments. So, if you are going to
be out, don’t forget that you can al-
ways mail your gift to the church or
go to our website and give online
through e-giving.
Let’s not take a vacation from Je-
sus this summer.
In His Name,
Jason White, Pastor

Summer is
here and we
have lots of
fun things
planned for
MBC Kids!
VBS is June 20
-24th, so please be praying for the
kids and families that will be com-
ing to that event, as well as volun-
teers who will be blessed by serv-
ing that week.
This summer on Sunday morn-
ings, we get to view the story of
From the desk of JOHN BERRYHILL, Pastor to Sr. Adults Fellow Believers, there has
been so much energy with our
seniors and I couldn’t be happier
and more blessed with this amaz-
ing group! We had a great group
go to the Round Rock Express
game in May and we have
signed up 15 (which is the maximum) for a 4 night
trip to Big Bend country. It’s not just the fun – it is
the relationship building and memory making that
make a group a family. And nearly every trip we
are taking a visitor or two. We are also going to
Waco to the Dr Pepper museum and the TX Rang-
er museum on August 9th. It will be a great time to
stay cool and have fun with our brothers and sisters.
Are any of you baby boomers (born 1946-1964)?
I have been praying for sometime that God will raise
up a person, or persons, to explore specific and spe-
cialized ministry. No programs yet, just thinking,
dreaming and praying. Boomers are much less
churched than the generation before them. Pray
that God will bless us with one or two folks to start this
conversation.
In Christ,

Jesus through a man whose life was
radically changed when he en-
countered the story of Jesus. This
man is Paul. He went all over the
known world preaching the Story of
Jesus. We’ll explore where in the
world Paul was and how we fit into
his story, too. We’ll talk about faith
like this: Believing that what Jesus
did can change me.
I have reached my one year
mark here at MBC and want to
thank you for all of your support,
and I can't wait to see what the
next year brings. It is a huge bless-
ing to serve all of you at MBC!

Children’s Ministry
My favorite time of the year is
here…summertime! May was
a neat month for the Student
Ministry. We finished a series
on Sunday mornings called,
“Reflections”. We talked
about how it can be a struggle to try and make sure
that the world around us sees only the version of us
that we want them to see. And then we focused on
how the Bible tells us that we are children of God—
loved and treasured exactly as we are.
For the next few months, Wednesday nights for the
Student Ministry will look a little different. We are go-
ing to do our Bible studies at different homes, which
will be a lot of fun. And this month, we are going to
do some fun activities like Roller Skating, Water
Games, and Putt Putt!
Student Ministry News I have really enjoyed the sermon series that Jason
has been going through over identity. The truths in this
series help dictate the quality of our life, as we view our-
selves through God’s eyes. So I highly recommend you
being there in the following weeks, with a pen and pa-
per to take notes!
In His Love,
Jared Cash

Our twins,
Andrew and
Corinne, are
three months old
now. They are
recognizing our
voices and faces, holding their
heads up, sleeping at night, and
making sounds that almost sound
like “mama” and “Aggie” if you
listen hard enough. We are learn-
ing to meet their needs, and they
are learning to depend on us to-
tally. As infants, they can only
communicate through crying
out, but when we satisfy them,
the joy and happiness is splashed
across their faces. In 1 Timothy
6:17 the Bible states, “As for the
rich in this present age, charge
them not to be haughty, nor to
set their hopes on the uncertain-
ty of riches, but on God, who
richly provides us with everything
to enjoy.” I can learn from my
children to have faith that my
heavenly Father will satisfy my
needs.
God Bless,
