FROM PASTOR CRAIG
Welcome Back Wednesday Nights! The crazy, interruption-filled days of summer are over and now we start getting back to business as usual. Our Wednesday night activities resume on August 8th. In case you’ve forgotten, the lineup looks like this:
• Family Supper at 6pm in the Gym • Youth Fusion at 6:45pm in the Youth Room • Adult Choir at 6:45pm in the Choir Room • Mission Friends (preschool) at 7pm in the Preschool Wing • RA’s and GA’s (children) at 7pm in the Children’s Rooms • Adult Bible Study (co-ed) led by Pastor Craig at 7pm in Room 110. • Band of Brothers (men’s group) at 7pm in the office Conference Room • Ladies’ Bible Study at 7pm in Room 109.
Austin Children’s Shelter Our ministry at the Shelter will begin Sunday, August 19th at 5:30. We will meet there to hold a big Back-to-School party for the older kids. We’ll serve dinner and dessert, meet the kids, play some games, and see what kinds of activities they might be interested in having throughout the year on a regular basis. More details to come but mark it down, prayer for this first step, and join us if you can.
Mission Trip/Kids Camps What an amazing week we had in the valley! Thanks so much to all who went, prayed, and gave – it truly was a church trip. We look forward to giving our report on Sunday night, August 5th at 6pm in the youth room. I promise you’ll be blessed if you come. The same week we were in the valley our children were at camp. Wasn’t it great to see four of our own come forward Sunday to share that they had received Christ as Savior! We have been so blessed through all our special summer activities to see God work in so many ways and in so many lives. And as great as the fall has been, I think the fall could be even better.
What a joy it is to serve such a wonderful church family!
Bless Your Heart! Craig
Mission Trip Report Sunday, August 5th, 6:00 p.m. Youth Room
Come hear from your Manchaca Baptist Mission Team about how God used them in San Juan, TX, Vacation Bible School for 40 + children and doubling the living space for a wonderful family of 8. You will be blessed hearing about the trip and seeing the photos of the weeks work for Him.
San Juan Mission Trip
The mission team members were Craig Taylor; Tyler Gatewood; Rex Bruton; Kam, Holly, Logan & Ellie Barnes; Brianna Carona; Lee Allen & Joanna Corley; Charles Crandal (from SE Baptist Church - our mission church in Creedmore); Kimberly Gill; Shelby Jo; Barbara Jones; David & Maria Lopez; Rhonda, Morgan & Daphne Montano; D.H. Shultz; Joshua Shultz; Rebecca Taylor; Matt Welch.
One team conducted Bible School for 40+ children at the Primera Iglesia Bautista Pueble Escogido Church in San Juan, Texas. Lee Allen Corley presented the Bible story in Spanish each day to a group of eager listeners. Maria Lopez was able to speak Spanish to a few of the mothers and do crafts with them each day. Pastor Mario emigrated from Nicaragua four years ago and has a passion for the members of his neighborhood.
The other team went to help the eight member Vargas family enlarge their existing two room house which doubled their living space. Carlos, the father, is a builder and is out of work and was a great help to the construction team. He is a new Christian and has a desperate desire to lead his family.
Please come hear more on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the Youth Room upstairs at the end of the gym.

Wow, the Summer has flown by. We have had an exciting Summer between Camp, Summer Fun Week, and Mission Progreso. Mission Progreso was a great opportunity for the Student Ministry to serve in the Valley. In the Valley we had a VBS team that worked with Pastor Mario and a Construction Team that worked with the Vargas family. The trip was a great time for everyone involved and we are looking forward to next year.
The school year is just around the corner and HEB Camp/Great Fall is September 21-23 and the Cost by September 5th is $80 and after September 5th is $95! Be on the look out for new and exciting things ahead in the Student Ministry. Give Grace, Live Truth, Reflect Jesus

Therapeutic Pillows
Our Ladies’ Ministry group makes therapeutic heart shaped
pillows for South Austin Medical Center and Central Texas
Medical Center in San Marcos. These are given to patients to
hold against their chests when they cough to help prevent pneumonia or just for
comfort. If you would like to help (not all steps require a sewing machine), or need
more information on this project, please contact Lesa in the church.
August collection items are any
school supplies. They are all on
sale…so now is the time to buy!
Items can be brought to the Church

Want to serve in the Student Ministry? We are looking for AV help on Wednesday Nights. We need someone

week (it is very easy to learn).
Student Ministry Fundraising Team
We are looking for a few creative, innovative people to join our Fundraising Team. We are trying to organize a
team that will help plan and implement fundraisers for the Student Ministry. The more money we raise, the
less students will have to pay for our events. More Students + Less Cost = WIN!
If you are interested in either one of the above, or would like more information, please email the Student
