Hello everyone and welcome back!

I’m proud to announce that MUSE did not flounder after its first issue, and even managed to reach its goal of bringing out two issues per semester! And it’s all thanks to you out there who have been reading the magazine, encouraging us and giving us feedback.

This issue’s theme is, of course, Christmas. We have a special section packed full of festive things, as well as the usual reviews, interviews and fiction.

So I hope you’ll enjoy reading about our rainbows, crystal meth, seeing-eye bitches, werewolves, physics, American gods, biscuits and zombies… and be inspired to have the best Christmas ever.

And of course, good luck with your essays, exams etc… And see you back here in April (if you haven’t died from brain overload yet)!

A Christmas recipe

Marina’s Merry Biscuits

Ingredients 250 g of flour 100 g of melted butter 125 g of sugar 50 g powdered almonds 2 eggs

a teaspoon of raising agent spices of your choosing (cinnamon, nutmeg…) or lemon zest 1 egg yolk

Recipe Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. Beat the eggs and sugar together. In a different bowl, mix the flour, raising agent and powdered almonds. Slowly add this mixture to the eggs and sugar, alternating with the melted butter. Knead the mixture with your hands. Separate the mixture into as many piles as you want flavours (for example, I like lemon and cinnamon), then add the spices or the lemon (make sure you put enough in!). Roll out the mixture with a rolling pin and cut out the biscuits in the shape you want. Put them on a tray with oven-proof paper (papier sulfurisé). Mix the egg yolk with a bit of water and spread it on top of the biscuits with a brush.

Bake for 7 to 10 minutes (you have to watch them carefully!)--- et voilà!
