Are you running an online store?Well then, we have a riddle for you!

What is cheap, risk-free and potenally extremely beneficial to your eCommerce business?

If web analycs is the first thing that came to your mind, chances are that you already know what we have to tell you.

If you guessed wrong, keep reading. It’s going to be worth it :)

DATA- there are few words today in the world of eCommerce that get thrown around as much as this one.

The big data market that concerns large volumes of data is set to grow to over $40 billion worldwide by 2018.

Why should you care about it?So you don’t remain in the dark!

How many people visited your website? Where did they come from? What products and site aracted the most visitors? WWhat site turned the most visitors off? Which campaign and ad that you run brought the most revenue?

OK, so how do I begin?

You need the right tool. There are many web analycs tools, both paid and free. GGoogle Analycs, Open Web Analycs and Piwik can all be used for free, are simple to set up and highly recommended.

To show you the most important benefits of web analycs, let’s focus on one tool, the most popular one in existence:

Google Analycs

SETUP1. Access the service at google.com/analycs.2. Set up a new analycs account for your website.3. Find the piece of JavaScript tracking code that needs to be added to the header of your website.4.4. Add the code to your website manually or by using an extension specific to your plaorm (WordPress, Magento etc.).

ACQUISITION

Now, that your account is up and running, we can finally answer the quesons you have always had on your mind:

Where are my userscoming from?

Organic searchvisitors who found your website in organic (non-paid) results in a search engine such as Google, Bing or DuckDuckGo

Directvisitors that typed the address of your website directly into the address bar

Referralvisitors that came to your website by following a link from another website

Socialvisitors from various social media plaorms

You can also use the Google URL builder to create custom links and track visitors from specific websites or sources, such as newsleers. AArmed with that knowledge, you can easily see which channels bring you traffic and which ones underperform.

BEHAVIOR

One example is the bounce rate – the percentage of users that le your website right aer vising just a single page. What may a high bounce rate mean?

A B

It’s up to you to determine which opon is correct.

Your website is not relevant for your users. They can’t find what they’re looking for on your site.

Just one of your pages fulfills their

need/inquisiveness so well that they don’t

need to see any more.

CONVERSIONSGoogle Analycs also lets you track conversions, that is, a desirable acon your users perform on your website such as: - signing up for a newsleer,- using a contact form,- making a pu- making a purchase.

Need an example? IIf making a purchase on your website means ge ng through five pages with the cart being the first and a “Thank you for a purchase” page being the last, the “Thank you” page may be your end goal - a conversion. IIf a user ever sees this page, they just brought you one conversion.

And if you realize that many visitors don’t complete the five-step process, you can check out which step most of them drop out at. TThat means that with web analycs you can improve your site’s ability to sell, every day.

ECOMMERCE TRACKINGGoogle Analycs also offers advanced eCommerce tracking.

With this, you can track eCommerce conversions.

In standard conversion, when one user downloads a PDF file (the end goal) repeatedly, it only counts as one conversion. In eCommerce, if one user does it repeatedly, each me adding revenue as specified by you (e.g. $8). 10 downloads = $80.

CUSTOMIZE

If you want quick access to specific data, you can customize your dashboard. FFor example, you can create a separate view for a single URL only, which won’t influence your primary view that shows stats for the enre website.

REPORT

Once you receive data, you can easily generate and print a report to be included in your presentaons.

Google Analycs, as well as other web analyc tools, gives you a whole lot of power. Use it wisely and you will be able to improve your eCommerce website every day.
