A Door to Your Heart

Never be scared of what the darkness holds, because no matter what it only means there is a light

nearby.

In the happy land of The World That Never Was everyone lived happily and proudly until Axel

was born. From the day that Axel was born he had a dark and evil heart, that aimed to do one thing

and one thing only: Evil. But on the same day that Axel was born his opposite, Sora, was born in the

nearby world of NeverLand. Sora’s heart was as pure as could be; he did nothing but good in his world

and he loved everyone. Axel grew up bullying everyone and doing anything he could to disrupt the

world. One summer’s day Axel was going all around city causing trouble and mischief when he stumbled

across the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and couldn’t help but stop and stare at her. As the days

went by his emotions for her grew more and more he just had to know who she was and her name.

When he turned 14 he finally got the guts and went to meet her, he went up to her and asked for her

name, told her he was sorry for intruding on her day but she told him how she saw him staring at her

and couldn’t help but stare back and wonder about him, than finally she gave him a name “Kairi”.

Instantly he knew she was the love of his life, she made him want to be good; a feeling he never

experienced before. Then one very sad day a beast came and destroyed The World That Never Was and

took Kairi from Axel. While the beast was destroying the world he threw Axel across the universe to a

different planet. A couple of days later he woke up in NeverLand, lost and unaware of where he was. All

he felt was hate and darkness in his heart again, he wanted to kill that monster, and reclaim what was

his. After a few days a witch visited him and gave him a special weapon called “The Keyblade”. It was a

weapon that could open people’s hearts, destroy the darkness within them and it was the only thing

that could kill the monster. What the witch didn’t know was that the Keyblade could also open Axel’s

heart and allow him to receive all of the darkness from others. The witch also visited Sora, and gave him

the same exact Keyblade so he could help Axel defeat the monster. The day after the witch visited, Sora



and Axel met. They talked to each other and found out they were the only ones who were given the

Keyblades and realized that they had to help each other kill the monster and destroy the darkness

within him. Sora and Axel spent years and years training together but Axel had far more skill and

strength than Sora. Sora could only match Axel’s strength when they fought with full power . The witch

came back to both of them 5 years later, grabbed them and told them that she had found the monster;

Axel instantly jumped and yelled “TAKE ME TO HIM NOW!” The witch saw the darkness within his eyes,

so she instead took Sora and left Axel behind. This caused Axel to lose control of his rage and he

destroyed the world of NeverLand and absorbed all the darkness within the world. He then went on to

find the witch and the monster. While Axel was doing this, Sora got to the monster’s world, and was

ready to fight and kill him. They fought a deadly battle for days. After many days, the final moment

came when Sora struck him with the Keyblade and used the magic within it to destroy the monster, and

all of the hate and darkness. This brought back all of the worlds that the monster had destroyed in the

past; as the monster was defeated he disappeared and in his place appeared Kairi, knocked out on the

floor. Sora took her to the nearest mountain and nursed her until her health had returned, only to find

out that she had lost her memory and she had forgotten everything but her name. Day by day, Kairi fell

deeper and deeper in love with Sora, as he trained her to fight, made her happy and brought back her

memory bit by bit. A couple of years later Axel finally found the witch, destroyed her and took all her

powers. This only created more darkness in the universe. He continued his search for Kairi all over the

universe. When he discovered her with Sora and found out she was deeply in love with him he

developed more and more hate. He fled to another place to control his anger and trained so he could

have his final duel with Sora, and destroy him once and for all. Axel trained for 9 days straight with no

rest until he was finally ready to finish this conflict that had been going on between them for so long.

The day finally came when Axel went out looking for Sora. He kidnapped and tied Kairi up in the closest

castle and told Sora that if he wanted her back, he should come after him and kill him. Sora found the



castle, climbed up all of the way, until he finally found the room Kairi was locked up in. It hurt him to

know that the only way he could get in and save Kairi was to kill the one he once called ‘Brother’. “Axel,

please don’t make me do this... you’re family to me, I don’t want to do this”.

“Sora you will not survive” Axel said as he swung his keyblade. He hit him and knocked him off balance.

Sora quickly got up and swung his keyblade and hit Axel with a fatal hit. Axel then dropped to the

ground and all of the evil was destroyed and all the worlds were revived back to their normal state.

Shortly after Axel disappeared and all of the worlds were revived, Sora quickly ran to get Kairi, picked

her up looked her in the eyes and kissed her. While he was distracted, Axel used his last burst of energy

to strike Sora in the heart. As they both disappeared, the keyblade showed up on the floor where both

of their bodies laid, and a goddess showed up behind the keyblade to give Kairi her memories back. As

she regained her memory all of her feelings for Axel returned but she still had all the feelings for Sora as

well… She immediately dropped to her knees, looking to the ground, crying her eyes out wondering,

“What if they hadn’t died and were still here?”

“Who would I have chosen?” She thought to herself … The goddess delightfully responded to her telling

her that she could get them back if she could open the kingdom hearts door. That door held all the

spirits and hearts of the worlds; “They are both waiting for you inside to share their love with you.” The

goddess told Kairi. The only thing that could open that door was the Keyblade and she was the last

Keyblade wielder. “What else is behind that door?...” Kairi wondered. And without hesitation they both

went to the door, as Kairi stared down the door she couldn’t help but have a bad feeling that the door

held something else behind it… something… Horrible. As she held the Keyblade to the door everything in

her body was screaming STOP! She threw the keyblade to the ground, the goddess angrily attacked her

screaming “Open the gate; you’re ruining my plans for this world!” Kairi threw down the goddess,

grabbing the Keyblade she stabbed herself straight in the heart and looked directly at the goddess and



whispered to her with her last few breaths “You’ll….never….ever… get… the evil within there”. She

instantly dropped and died only to wake up in heaven’s gate with Sora and Axel standing there holding

their arms out welcoming her with big smiles. The goddess however quickly and cunningly casted a spell

on Kairi’s spirit to doom her to a life of never ending sorrow and misery in hell without neither Axel nor

Sora….

“I love you both”…… Kairi said.
