Shot 1

The main part of the image that attracts you is the gruesome mutated looking hands they create an eerie feel to the shot, to add to it the partially dark lighting also creates a sort of mystery and really shows the actual darkness of the shot/film Lastly the creepy looking writing is very shaky looking which may perhaps show the un-sureness of the film as if you have seen it you would understand. Which fits in with the genre of psychological thriller!

Shot 2

In this shot, we see that a man is shaving his skin off with a razor blade, creating an enigma and sense of mystery as he seems to be cutting away his fingerprints! This will make the audience question how smart the killer actually is. The shot also creates a sense of suspense as the audience will now be wanting to know who the killer is!

Shot 3

Immediately the first thing I notice is that the letter ‘v’ is replaced by the number ‘7’ this keeps the audience engaged wondering why and questioning, but if you have seen the film you will know it is all about the seven deadly sins. The bold and unique title also has a ghostly effect, creating a sense of mystery and linking to the murders that occur in the film.

Shot 4

I would say that this image is one of the creepiest, there is not much to it however the black and white of the books and the stand out red spot of blood on the books creates of the feelings of anxiousness suspense and excitement to find out what actually happens in the film and whose blood that actually is.

Shot 5

Almost straight away this shot creates the feeling of danger, with the bold blood red colour at the top half of the shot which contrasts with the dull colour of the other half which shows that the genre is a thriller, only being able to see a tiny bit of the ‘killers’ hand creates more suspense and excitement for the audience to find out who it is! Man or women ?

Shot 6

This gruesome shot creates the terror in the film, and also the suspense and enigma is this the killer admiring someone else’s hand work or in fact did the killer do this himself? The dull colouring of the shot is almost black and white which brings the darkness to the shot is also gives us a sense of how the film is a thriller.

Shot 7

The extreme close up of the image gives us a sense on mystery as we can almost read the writing but we actually cant, this leaves the audience wondering what the writing actually says and who is sewing the pages together? again creating anxiety and excitement within the shot. The shot is quite light in comparison to the darkness of the other shots but still creates suspense as we are wondering why the information is so important?

Shot 8

In this shot we can see that the ‘killer’ is cutting the word god out of a dollar note creating the sense that he may be a religious man relating to him having sinned by killing various people, however I also think that the ‘killer’ may see himself more as god taking away people lives who he feels don’t deserve them. This gives us an excitement into the film questioning why he is doing that, why hes cutting out the word god?

Shot 9

This shot gives and eerie feel as there is a picture of a child with the eyes crossed out and a lock of hair, which makes us ask the question has he killed them? Creating more suspense in the film. The darkness around the edges of the shot conveys the mystery of the shot and the mystery of the film overall.
