Shot 1

the first shot we see when the song kicks in in this video is a shot of the artist. the scene is quite bland which makes her stand out and the disco lights above add to the conventions of the genre of music (e.g. dance, disco lights etc.)

Shot 2

The bright colours in this shot add to the genre of music. This shot also amplifys the lyrics in the song; It shows the pair being quite rebellious and a clear shot of the artist drinking and laughing at the other characters dangerous antics

Shot 3

This shot again amplifys the lyrics of the song, acting rebellious and ‘hopeless’ in a public place. This shot also places main focus on the artist as the background again is quite dull and so she stands out from the rest of the scene

Shot 4

This shot of falling drugs amplifys/illustrates the lyrics of the song. It helps the viewers get a better understanding of the song and its meaning. this shot also shows the relationship between the music and the video; the pace of the falling drugs matches to the beat of the song.

Shot 5

This shot brings out the genre of the music. The shot shows a group of people dancing to the beat of the music; however they are in a field which is quite unusual but this again could be an amplification of the lyrics, showing rebellion and hopelessness

Shot 6

the background in this scene, a burning building, symbolizes the turn in the relationship between the characters in this video. As soon as the music drops tempo and goes quite grim and dark , the relationship between the characters change, giving a story to the lyrics and amplifying them.

Shot 7

This scene shows the characters being quite destructive on themselves; this scene contrasts from the start of the video in what seemed like their relationship was fun and enjoyable to actually being quite dangerous. This scene shows a relationship between the music and the video as whilst the music is low is when the characters start showing this kind of behaviour.

This shot amplifys a whole new meaning to the song lyrics than the audience may have presumed at the start of the video. This shows dangerous and an obvious lack of self control, the story of the pairs relationship at its peak in the video.

Shot 9

The last shot of the video is of the artist, hiding her face against the wall. On the walls where there was normally a pattern or a video has just become plain. The artist doesn’t stand out from the scene as she did before and blends in; this could suggest the ending of the story within this video, again amplifying the lyrics in a totally different way than from the rest of the video, showing her vulnerable and even reflecting on the past relationship she's been in. this shot is after the music has faded, symbolizing a faded relationship.
