The 7th Annual Grogansworth Ram Sale is on Monday 20th October at 3.00 pm. The Henderson family look forward to welcoming you. Inspections will be from 11.00 am and a barbeque lunch will be available. If you require some assistance with your selections, Ian Marwedel and Michael Elmes will be on hand, as well as Kim and George. After a challenging year, which most have also experienced, with no spring and a long hot summer, we benefited from the best autumn break in the district for about 90 years. Little did we know when the photograph was taken on 28 February of feeding the wether weaners, within a week the break would begin. We hope you have all had the recent August rain, which might be a prelude to an excellent spring. Many woolgrowers are looking to increase quality and quantity of wool production per head, combined with extra frame and fertility. Kim, his late father, Cuthbert, and George have never wavered from this path. We run Merino sheep for their profitability, both stud and flock, as specialist Merino wool and meat producers. 7TH ANNUAL GROGANSWORTH RAM SALE Kim Henderson 0429 839 889 George Henderson 0427 434 343 Classer: Ian Marwedel 0429 151 419 Stud Rep: Michael Elmes 0429 847 552 Contact via email [email protected] PHONE: 02 6227 6085 GROGANSWORTH, 888 LACHLAN VALLEY WAY, BOWNING, 2582 Newsletter 2014 TUESDAY 7 OCTOBER Come and have a sale preview from 1.30 pm on Tuesday 7 October, where you’ll be able to inspect the sale rams individually penned in sale lot order. welcoming you. Inspections will be from

After a challenging year, which most have

also experienced, with no spring and a

long hot summer, we benefited from the

best autumn break in the district for about

90 years. Little did we know when the

photograph was taken on 28 February of

feeding the wether weaners, within a week

the break would begin. We hope you have

all had the recent August rain, which might

be a prelude to an excellent spring.

Many woolgrowers are looking to increase

quality and quantity of wool production

per head, combined with extra frame and

fertility. Kim, his late father, Cuthbert, and

George have never wavered from this path.

We run Merino sheep for their profitability,

both stud and flock, as specialist Merino

wool and meat producers.

We congratulate clients Caroline Spittle and her daughter, Rosemary Mitchell, of Kingslea Partnership, whose young ewes won this competition in February. It is run by the Bookham Agricultural Bureau in the Bookham/Yass district. The 2014 judges were Wally Merriman from Boorowa and Alan McGufficke from Cooma.

Since first entering the competition in 2008, Kingslea Partnership have won the competition twice and have always been in the top three, a great model of consistency.

Ian Bush of “Old Bogolara”, Bookham, was delighted with the wool cut of the paddock prepared grade rams he purchased in 2013. They averaged 19.5 microns, and when shorn at 18 months of age, with 10 months wool growth, they cut an average 12.5 kg per head.

This event is to be held on Thursday 4 September from 10 am. We will be displaying a selection of housed and paddock reared rams, fleeces and greasy wool samples from wool sales of this year’s shearing. It is always interesting to see your wool the way the buyers see it.

We have been members of Ausfine for a number of years, and Ausfine manager, Scott Carmody, says that as the leading fine wool clip in the organisation he and the other wool buyers in Sydney can count on how reliable the quality and preparation of the Grogansworth clip always are.

We expect to have 400 - 450 August/September 2013 drop surplus flock ewes for sale in November/December.

Enquiries welcome.
