Welcome to the 7th annual Ward’s Red Angus & Guests Bull Sale! I can’t believe it’s time to do the Welcome again, a year

goes so quickly! Family, Farming, Football and Friends pretty much sums up our year!

Our family grew in 2014 with the birth of Carter Ward on June 19th. Josh, Kari and Carter have moved to an acreage close by

and help us out a lot when their jobs permit it. Cole moves home in the winter after football, so we are fortunate to have both

boys at home during the busy calving and bull sale season!

As for farming, “Isn’t the Cattle Business GREAT right now!” After many years of not being rewarded properly for our product

it’s nice to see the cattle market finally selling at a level it so deserves. For those of you that have hung in there like we have,

it’s time to advance your operations and improve your farms. For some of you that may be machinery, land or genetics. With

the return on calves, quality, functional bulls are essential! We believe the bull pen we have on offer is just that. Our bulls

have been developed on a pellet, grass hay diet, they are fed a controlled amount of pellets to adequately grow but NOT

fatten. This ensures their ability to breed properly and maintain condition thus ensuring their longevity. We believe this is how

bulls should be developed to ensure quality and durability for our customers.

The female market is incredibly strong right now, therefore we have decided to add in a group of Open Replacement Heifers.

These are sourced from our bull sale customers and selected by us to meet the needs of producers looking to add numbers

of quality heifers to their pen. All females will be Vet inspected and have had all their shots prior to sale day. For more

information please call me or any of the consigners in the back of the catalogue.

Football and friends! There’s nothing better than loading up the car with family and friends

and heading to Regina to watch the Thunder! We are very proud of Cole’s achievements

and would invite any and all football enthusiasts to join us to go and watch some great

football on a weekend!

Welcome to Ward’s Red Angus and Guests 7th Annual Bull Sale... the source of high quality, calving ease sires, based generations of selection.

If Clarke Ward would have any complaints, (and he doesn’t... who can carp in such a strong cattle market), it would be that his bulls last too long. The ration and the rational is simply feed a high roughage diet and let these bulls develop naturally in order to provide the highest degree of health and soundness for the customers. Ease of calving has always been the number one selection trait at Wards... to start with a good calf... you must have a live calf. The cow herd and the herd sires are selected using that basis.

Isla Bank Angus, new guest consignors in 2014, are back again this year with a solid group of yearling bulls; pen mates to the Junior and Reserve Junior Bull Calf Champions at last fall’s Agribition. Iain and Jamie add a dimension of outside black Angus genetics selected from the new and leading sires in the Angus breed worldwide.

The Ward family prides itself in their customers... most importantly the repeat customer base. Buyers return... simply because these bulls are not cooked and they work year after year. Throughout all the times in which we have all struggled, Clarke and his family “stuck to their guns and strived to produce a sounder... better product despite the cost and sacrifice.” Clarke and Denise are amongst the most dedicated Angus breeders... to the breed and the community.

Lancer was purchased from Alvin and Marg Ginter (Pasquia Red Angus). He was purchased to bring in some shape and muscle combined with caving ease for heifers and second calves. The Lancer genetics combine calving ease with performance and muscle shape. We are pleased with both his bull calves and heifers. The heifers are deep bodied, easy doing and milk well. Calving ease genetics that will pay off at weaning time!

Sure Shot was our second high seller in our 2012 Bull Sale, selling to Howe’s Red Angus! We drew semen on him to use in our herd and the calves we have are solid rugged cow bulls! The strength of his dam coupled with the power of the Realdeal herd sire is evident in both sexes of calves. His daughters are the top in our replacement pen and recently bred replacements sired by Sure Shot were averaging over $6,000.00/ female (at Howe red Angus Female Sale). Clarke calls these Bulls the “Simm-stitute”! They will add pounds and growth to your calves like the exotic breeds but calve like an Angus! We purchased “Outlaw” from Hall’s Cattle Co. in 2013. We needed a black herd sire with muscle, growth and the ability to cover ground. ..Long Yearlings... We love the fall bulls!!! Low input… MAX output! The low maintenance of the fall calving group is getting more and more appealing every year! All calves are born unassisted on grass, they are kept on their cow for the first winter and weaned in May. The bulls then go to their own pasture to grow and develop until October. We then bring the bulls home and develop them on a moderate amount of pellets. This will provide you with some of the most durable bulls to hit your pastures this spring! The youth of a yearling combined with the servicing capacity of a two year old means this group may be the most valuable bulls of all. A very constant set of thick, dark, free moving bulls with above average scrotal. As usual, we only do this one foot note for all the fall bulls since they are peas in a pod. Please check the calving star rating as they will be scored according to how they will perform for calving ease.

e...Welcome to the 7th Annual Ward’s Red Angus and Guests Bull Sale. We are very pleased to work with the Wards

once again.What a year the past 12 months have been. Prices started to skyrocket right around this time last year and have

shown no sign of slowing down. What a great reward to those of you that have withstood just about everything

Mother Nature and the markets could throw at you. Some may call you crazy for sticking through all of that but not

us. We want to thank you for persevering and providing the world with highly nutritional beef for dinner tables.

2014 was a good year for us at Isla Bank Angus. We were honoured to have received the 75 year Heritage Award

from the Canadian Angus Association. We were also awarded Champion and Reserve Champion Junior Angus

Bull Calf this year at Agribition. 2014 also was a year we reaped the rewards of a pretty extensive embryo transfer

program. We had a success rate of over 80% of the embryos we implanted resulting in live calves. We dug deep

into the Isla Bank tank and brought back some genetics that made Isla Bank a respected and sought after name in

the breed. As a result we have some genetics that many cattlemen do not have in their herd. Here is an opportunity

for some outcross genetics.We also have some excellent bulls off our walking herd bulls. Two awesome brothers off TigerShark, their brothers

were well received on sale day last year. As well we have two brothers off our new herdsire Youngdale Zodiac.

He has left a great set of calves that are long, deep sided, correct and extremely hairy. A Zodiac heifer sold at

Agribition to Colin Haydock at Lloydminster for $5000.

The bulls on offer this year show muscle expression, excellent structure and tons of hair. All things that are critical

to success as breeding bulls. Also, I feel the bulls this year are some of the best footed bulls we have ever raised.

Every one of them could go out to the toughest conditions out there and thrive.
