• You must provide a suitable base for your lodge that is level and flat.

• Concrete is ideal but must be made to the exact measurements of the solid line below. Please make sure you measure to the interior of the shuttering. The dotted line shows the overhang of the roof pelmet; please allow for this when measuring up your space.

• A concrete base 10cm/4’’ thick will need 2 ventilation pipes (4’’ soil pipe is ideal) underneath the concrete to vent the fire, bring-ing air from outside to the centre of the base. Use a 90 degree bend in the centre and also on the outside if necessary. These can go out in any direction but preferably round the back where they won’t be seen.

• A decked base can be larger but do leave a gap between the boards to let water drain away. No air pipes are needed under a decked base.
