Failures of Planning: Skewed DistributionThe basic fundamentals behind formulating the Five Year Plans was to remove equality. However, ironically, it was during the time period when these plans were being formulated that inequality grew.

Due to spread of inequality in India, along with its diversity, implementing the reservation was deemed necessary.

The implementation of the reservation was met by controversial views, thus, further deepening the differences between the different classes of the society.
