AUDITION INFORMATIONPLEASE READ

The attached forms must be completed by the parent or legal guardian; no one other than a parent or legal guardian may sign these forms. You must turn these forms in at the scheduled time of your child’s audition. If these forms are not present and completed when you sign in your child, he or she will not be able to audition as prearranged. Please know that we pray over every child as he or she auditions, and we pray for the Lord to direct us each time we listen to the voices on the tape. The master audition tape of each child singing uses number identification and not names, so that the final pick is anonymous. We send the tape of the finalists to an outside source—a professional in the area of vocal music—who chooses the final group based on the audition. We then notify the finalists which group they have been placed into. Because the Kids’ Praise Club and Good News Kids sometimes use their vocal talents in the recording studio, it is important to have voices that are able to blend, to keep the rhythm and to hold pitch. Thank you for your support in prayer as the audition process takes place.

LETTER TO PARENTS/HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION

DEAR PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN,

By receiving this letter, along with the attached packet, you have indicated your child’s interest in being a part of the Kids’ Praise Club and Good News Kids Gospel Choir. The Harvest Kids’ Praise Club and Good News Kids Gospel Choir are auditioned small group ministries dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through music and song. We stress that being a part of KPC or GNK is a privilege that comes with great responsibility on the part of both the child and his or her parents. Please review the ministry requirements below to see if this ministry is one that you can commit to. If not, please return this packet to the Children’s Ministry Office in order to open up a time slot for another student.All the forms in this packet must be completed and turned in at the time of your child’s audition.Your child must meet the following criteria in order to participate and remain in the program: • Attend Harvest on a weekly basis in an age-appropriate classroom • Be between the ages of 7–12 on or before June 1 (of the current year) • Attend mandatory Monday rehearsals, from 6:30 P.M.–8:00 P.M. • Complete the weekly ministry homework: memorize the week’s Scripture verse and practice the songs • Maintain a good attendance record to both practices and performances • Engage in behavior indicative of one involved in ministry (Read the KPC and GNK Ministry Guidelines and sign the contract.) • There will be a one-time fee of $12.00 for the T-Shirt if you are one of the children selected.

KIDS, WHAT DO YOU DO?

We make it fun! • Audition CD: Memorize one verse and chorus of one song only. (Please see the lyric sheet.) • Dance: We will teach you a short and easy dance step before you enter your seven minute audition. • Acting: We perform an impromptu (we will provide the props) silly skit with you.

We have auditions scheduled before and after yours, so please be on time. Of course, should the unforeseen happen and you miss your time slot, we will reschedule your audition for the earliest available spot. Be aware that if our schedules are full, there may not be another spot this year but we will do our best to fit you in. Bring all forms with you completed, as you will not have time to complete them at your audition. You WILL NOT be able to audition without all forms completed.

We ask for your patience in case we get a little behind. However, we will try to stick to the schedule. Please keep these auditions in your prayers. Thank you.

Kids events sanctioned by Harvest Christian Fellowship. I do hereby authorize Harvest Christian Fellowship as agents for the undersigned to consent to any X-ray examination, anesthetic, medical or surgical diagnosis or treatment, and hospital care that is deemed advisable by, and is to be rendered under the general supervision of any physician and surgeon licensed under the provision of the Medicine Practice Act on the medical staff of a licensed hospital, whether such diagnosis or treatment is rendered at the office of said physician or at said hospital.

It is understood that this authorization is given in advance of any specific diagnosis, treatment, or hospital care being required, and is given in advance to provide authority and power on the part of the aforesaid agents to give a specific consent to any and all such diagnosis, treatment, or hospital care which the aforesaid physician in the exercise of his best judgment may deem advisable.
