Go, Diego, Go!: Infielder Diego Castillo became the first Patriot in 2021 to record a three-hit game with a 3-for-4 performance Wednesday night. He followed that up with a two-hit night on Thursday. Castillo currently leads the team and is tied for second in the Double-A Northeast League in hits (5).

Hits and Misses: The Patriots pitching staff has limited Harrisburg batters to only 10 hits over the first three games of the series. Overall, Senators batters are a combined 10-for-93 (.108) from the plate so far, accounting for the lowest team batting average in the Northeast League across three games.

Start Me Up: Somerset starting pitchers did not allow a run over their first 10.1 combined innings pitched of the season. Luis Gil, Shawn Semple and Matto Kro-ok have combined to strike out 14 batters and while only yielding three walks and four hits through three games.

Mowing ‘em Down: Somerset’s pitching staff has twice recorded double-digit strikeout totals over their first three games. The team struck out 15 against the Senators Tuesday night and registered 11 strikeouts as a staff Thursday night. In each game, every pitcher to enter the game recorded at least one strikeout, including six Ks over 3.2 innings of work from Luis Gil and a team-high seven strikeouts from Ron Marinaccio Tuesday night.

Go with the Flo: Estevan Florial led off Thursday night’s ballgame with a double down the right-field line. The No. 10 Yankees prospect (BA) currently leads Somerset with three extra-base hits, including one each night he has been in the lineup.

The Right Junk: RHP Janson Junk takes the mound tonight for the first time as a Patriot. The 25-year old made 20 appearances (12 starts) with High-A Tampa in 2019, but also made one appearance each at the Double-A and Triple-A levels. Junk was a 22nd-round draft pick of the Yankees in 2017 out of Seattle University

Yankee Connection: All three managers in the 24-year history of the Somerset Patriots have played for the Yankees organization. Current manager Julio Mos-quera spent two seasons in the Yankees system (2000-01) playing with former manager Brett Jodie.
