Have fun with us the Cedar Hill Way! The Parks and Recreation Department has a variety of specialized programs for everyone that is sure to get you up and moving! We offer athletic leagues for adults or youth at various athletic facilities; a variety of Active Senior programs at the Cedar Hill Senior Center; and several aquatics programs at Crawford Park Pool in the summer. If that’s not enough, you can always join us at one of our numerous special events, or become a member of our award winning Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center where you can get in a great work out, host your special event or find that perfect program foranyone in your family!

Old Settler’s Reunion October 9, 5:30 pm-8 pm Historic Downtown Cedar Hill Reunite with family and friends and honor Country Day tradition at the Old Settler’s Reunion. Gather around the Downtown square on Friday for Bingo, prizes, live musical entertainment, a light supper and the crowning of the King and Queen of the Hill. An admission fee of $5 per person ($3 for children under 12) benefits Bridge’s Safehouse, ELF and Friends, and the Cedar Hill Food Pantry.

Country Day on the Hill and ParadeOctober 10, 9 am-6 pm (FREE)Historic Downtown Cedar HillFun and excitement abound each year on the 2nd Saturday of October when Cedar Hill celebrates Country Day on the Hill. 2015 marks the 78th annual event that features a parade, over 100 craft vendors, food, activities, contests and live entertainment on 3 stages throughout the entire day.

Men and Coed Flag Football

Cedar Hill Parks and Recreation partners with FlagFootballX to offer adult flag football leagues. Games are played at Valley Ridge Park on Sundays and fees vary with the different leagues. For registration information, fees, leagues and rules visit flagfootballx.com or call (817) 368-0800.

Adult Athletic leagues are offered through the Parks and Recreation Department at various facilities in Cedar Hill. Childcare for children 6 months-6 years is provided in our kid friendly Barnyard,

and is included with the purchase of an annual

membership, or for the fee of $20 for 10 visitsor $4 per

child, per day. Two hour maximum time limit per child and parent

must remain on site during barnyard use.

MEMBERSHIPSWe offer a variety of memberships for all ages; annual, three month, one month or a day pass valid for one day access. Each membership includes:• Access to state of the art fitness equipment including three lane walking/jogging track, a variety of cardio and strength machines, free weights and much more. (free fitness orientation available).• Two full size gymnasiums.• Game room including table tennis, foosball, air hockey, pool table and gaming systems. • Onsite child care in our barnyard (included in the annual membership).• Complimentary wallet lockers located in the gymnasium & fitness area for personal items.

MEMBERSHIP POLICIES

• New members are required to complete a liability waiver upon purchase and youth members under age 18 must have a liability waiver completed by a parent/guardian.• Memberships are valid from the date of purchase to end of the purchase period (one month, three months or annual).• Membership cards are non-transferable. Only the person whose photo appears on the membership card will be allowed to use it. Violation of this policy will result in suspension and/or forfeiture of membership without a refund. • Members are responsible for notifying Recreation Center staff of lost or stolen membership cards as soon as possible. Members will not be held responsible for unauthorized use after notification.• Membership cards must be presented at the front desk before participating in any activity, and must be available when ever asked by a staff member to present.• Membership cards reported lost will be cancelled and will no longer be eligible for use. A replacement card will be issued after a $5 replacement fee is paid.

ONLINE REGISTRATION for Programs & Special Events

Follow these steps to register online for programs/special events at www.cedarhilltx.com/pard: 1. If you have already registered for a course/special event, or visited the Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center and set up your account, click on “Log In” button, select “Forgot Password” and enter in the email you used to set up your account. This will send you a link where you can set up the password you want to use. If you do not have an account, click “Create New Account” and complete process. Make sure to add all family members in your household who plan to register for a program or special event. 2. Once you have your log in information, you can proceed to find your course/special event in the programs tab or typing in the code listed in the brochure into the “Barcode Search.” 3. Under your selected code, select “Show Courses” to view the program schedule and availability. Select “Add to Cart” on the right hand side if your course is available. Continue shopping and add additional courses, then select “Proceed to Checkout.” You can then have the receipt emailed to you, or print it out.

Bring your furry friend on a leash to hang with you by your mat while we do yoga (all dogs welcome). Lifeguard Training Instructor Course - LGI(Duncanville Natatorium)Age: 17 yrs+Become certified to teach the American Red Cross Lifeguard-ing, Shallow Water Lifeguarding, Waterpark Skills, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers, Administer-ing Emergency Oxygen and Blood borne Pathogens classes. This course prepares instructor candidates to use course and presentation materials, conduct training sessions and evaluates the progress of candidates in a professional-level course. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center features 5,400 square feet of versatile meeting space and is ideal for meetings, receptions, birthday parties, weddings and other events. Access to a commercial kitchen and a variety of audio/visual equipment is also available. PAVILION RENTALSCity parks are a great place to celebrate, whether it is a birthday party, family reunion or just a picnic in the park. There are 15 covered pavilions that can be rented at various parks throughout the city. Rental fees are due at the time of reservation. Reservations are completed at the Parks and Recreation administrative offices and can be made up to a year in advance. Rental fee is $25 per hour.
