professional role ModelsOur day camp staff are selected based on their experience, attitude, skills and ability to accept and demonstrate the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Our Professional Role Models attend at least 24 hours of training covering topics including risk management, diversity and behavior management, YMCA Mission and Character Development, child abuse, games, skits and songs, sports education and team building.

healthy foodAt the Y, we believe in healthy living, which includes providing healthy snacks, and in some cases meals, to our campers. We strive to offer fresh fruit, vegetables and other nutritious snacks to our campers. Not all camps will provide snacks during camp hours.

Safety The American Camp Association™ (ACA) accredits each of our day camp programs. This independent body establishes standards for key aspects of camp operation, program quality, health and safety of campers. ACA™ accreditation includes an on-site visitation every three years. Additionally, many YMCA Day Camp staff are trained in CPR and First Aid.

Self-respectOur goal: building self-respect through skill development for all campers. Camp provides worthwhile experiences such as creating unique and artistic crafts, finding animals in their habitat or learning how to properly kick a soccer ball. Camp counselors are trained to highlight teachable moments and emphasize accomplishments and successes in all campers.

there’s no place like the Y for kids in the summer. At YMCA Day Camps, kids can:
