BURSARY GUIDELINES Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute Aboriginal Post-Secondary Bursary Guidelines 2014-2015 2014/15 Aboriginal KTEI Post-Secondary Education and Training Bursary Fund Extended Deadline: March 27, 2015 @ 4:00 pm The intent of the bursary awards is to support applicants who clearly demonstrate the need for financial assistance. All applications are assessed in accordance with established criteria. Bursary awards do not have to be repaid. Application Guidelines WHO CAN APPLY? You are eligible to apply for this 2014/15 Aboriginal KTEI Post-Secondary Education and Training Bursary Fund if you meet the following criteria: A Canadian resident Aboriginal individual who is either First Nation status or non- status, Inuit or Métis; An Active Student in a part-time or full-time program at the post-secondary level in a program of study that is a minimum of one academic year - at an accredited university or college in partnership with Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute and pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree. Criteria: One letter of reference is required. Proof of First Nation, Inuit or Métis ancestry. Social Insurance Number is required. Letter of Personal Introduction (minimum 750 words, maximum 1,500 words). a. State your reason for choosing your field of study. b. Tell us why you are passionate about this field of study and committed to completing this program. c. State your hopes and dreams regarding your future career and employment. d. Demonstrate financial need – complete attached financial form. All financial information that you submit directly is kept STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL d. Include any special circumstances that you think the review committee should give consideration to in reviewing your application. Submitting an application does not guarantee that an applicant will receive funding. There is no set amount for bursaries every applicant is assessed individually. The level of financial

Application Guidelines

WHO CAN APPLY? You are eligible to apply for this 2014/15 Aboriginal KTEI Post-Secondary Education and Training Bursary Fund if you meet the following criteria:

A Canadian resident Aboriginal individual who is either First Nation status or non-

status, Inuit or Métis;

An Active Student in a part-time or full-time program at the post-secondary level in a

program of study that is a minimum of one academic year - at an accredited university or college in partnership with Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute and pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree.

Criteria: One letter of reference is required.

Proof of First Nation, Inuit or Métis ancestry.

Social Insurance Number is required.

assistance varies according to the assessed financial need of applicants, the number of applicants, and the availability of funds for allocation. NOTICE, CONSENT, DECLARATIONS Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute is proud to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of its students in promotional materials such as the annual report, and other such presentation formats that may be required from time to time. KTEI is seeking approval to release the use of your personal information and/or photograph for such purposes by signing a consent form. The use of any personal information obtained by KTEI for promotional use, is intended only for celebrating success, otherwise any personal information obtained from individuals will be kept confidential. If you agree to consent to release your information to the Consortium for promotional purposes, please sign below.

Fully completed application packages must contain current information and be post-marked, in the mail or dropped off at the KTEI Office by March 23, 2015 by 4:00pm. NO EXCEPTIONS.
