ชุดการเรียน เทคนิคการอานภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อความเขาใจเลมที่ 1 เรื่อง เทคนิคการหาหัวเรื่อง (Topics) นี้ จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อใชเปนสื่อการสอนเสริม รายวิชา อ 42102 ภาษาอังกฤษพื้นฐาน 4 ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปที่ 5 เพื่อเสริมความรูเกี่ยวกับ เทคนิคในการอานภาษาอังกฤษเพ่ือความเขาใจซ่ึงผูเรียนสามารถใชเปนเอกสารประกอบการเรียนหรือเรียนรูดวยตนเอง โดยศึกษาเอกสารการเรียนรู และปฏิบัติตาม “คำชี้แจงการใชชุดการเรียน” ที่ไดแนะนำไว แลวทำกิจกรรมตามลำดับขั้นตอน ชวยใหผูเรียนไดพัฒนาทักษะในการอานภาษาองักฤษ ซึ่งสามารถนำไปใชในชีวิตประจำวัน และเปนความรูพื้นฐานในการเรียนขั้นสูงตอไป ผูจัดทำหวังวาชุดการเรียนเทคนิคการอานภาษาอังกฤษเพ่ือความ เขาใจชุดนี้ จะเปน ประโยชนตอการเรียนการสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ ชวยแบงเบาภาระครูผูสอน และชวย พัฒนาทักษะการอานภาษาอังกฤษใหนักเรียน และผูสนใจไดอยางมีประสิทธิภาพ ขอขอบพระคุณ ดร.คณาพร คมสัน ศึกษานิเทศกชำนาญการพิเศษ สพท.สป.เขต 1 คุณครูเอมอุษา ภูมิสวัสดิ์ รองหัวหนากลุมสาระภาษาอังกฤษ โรงเรียนเตรียมอุดมศึกษา คุณครูพรทิพย ศุภมันตา ครู ค.ศ.3 โรงเรียนสตรีสมุทรปราการ และ Mr.Henry Lotz จากโครงการภาษาและวัฒนธรรม AYC ที่ไดกรุณาสละเวลาใหความรู คำแนะนำตลอดจนใหขอคิดอันเปนประโยชนในการจัดทำชุดการเรียน จนประสบความสำเร็จไว ณ โอกาสน้ี หากมีขอผิดพลาดประการใด ตองกราบขออภัยมา ณ ที่นี้ดวย

ชุดการเรียนเทคนิคการอานภาษาอังกฤษเพ่ือความเขาใจมีจุดประสงค เพ่ือใหผูเรียนเรียนรูเทคนิคตาง ๆ ในการอานภาษาอังกฤษ ซ่ึงจะชวยใหนักเรียนไดพัฒนาทักษะในการอานภาษาอังกฤษอันจะเปนประโยชนตอการส่ือสารในชีวิตประจำวัน และเปนความรูพ้ืนฐานในการเรียนข้ันสูง โดยใชเปนส่ือการสอนเสริมในรายวิชา อ 42102 ภาษาอังกฤษพ้ืนฐาน 4 สำหรับช้ันมัธยมศึกษาปท่ี 5 ประกอบดวย 6 ชุดการเรียน ไดแก

1) เทคนิคการหาหัวเรื่อง (Topics)

2) เทคนิคการจับใจความสำคัญ (Main Ideas)

3) เทคนิคการเดาศัพทจากบริบท (Context Clues)

4) เทคนิคการหาคำอางอิง (References)

5) เทคนิคการสรุปความ (Inferences)

6) เทคนิคการ Skimming และ Scanning

แตละชุดประกอบดวย คำชี้แจง คำแนะนำ จุดประสงคการเรียนรู แบบทดสอบกอนเรียน เนื้อหาใบความรูแบบฝกหัด และแบบทดสอบหลังเรียนรวมทั้ง เฉลยแบบฝกหัด และแบบทดสอบกอนและหลังเรียน ผูเรียนสามารถใชเปนแบบฝก ประกอบการเรียนหรือเรียนรูไดดวยตนเองตามระดับความสามารถไมจำกัดเวลา นอกจากน้ีผูเรียนสามารถประเมินระดับความสามารถทางภาษาดวยตนเองจากเฉลย คำตอบของแบบฝกหัดในแตละบทและแบบทดสอบกอนและหลังเรียนในภาคผนวก และ ควรพยายามฝกฝนเพ่ือพัฒนาความสามารถทางภาษา ของตนใหอยูในระดับที่สูงขึ้น

¤Óá¹Ð¹Óã¹¡ÒÃãªŒªØ´¡ÒÃàÃÕÂ¹ 1.ชุดการเรียนเทคนิคการอานภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อความเขาใจเลมนี้ผูเรียนสามารถใชประกอบการเรียนในชั้นเรียนหรือเรียนรูดวยตนเองตามความสามารถมีกิจกรรมใหผูเรียนฝกปฏิบัติ ทั้งศึกษาคำอธิบาย เนื้อหา และตัวอยางจากใบความรูทำกิจกรรมตามแบบฝกหัดที่กำหนด และประเมินผลดวยตนเองจากเฉลยในแตละบท 2. การปฏิบัติกิจกรรมในชุดการเรียนประกอบดวยขั้นตอน ดังนี้ 2.1 ทำแบบทดสอบกอนเรียน 2.2 ศึกษาคำอธิบายเนื้อหา และตัวอยางจากใบความรู 2.3 ทำแบบฝกหัดที่กำหนด 2.4 ทำแบบทดสอบหลังเรียน 2.5 ประเมินผลความกาวหนาของตนเอง 3.ชุดการเรียนนี้ไมใชแบบทดสอบ จึงไมควรวิตกกังวลแตมุงใหผูเรียนเรียนรูดวยตนเองตามความสามารถ 4.ควรมีสมาธิ และความซื่อสัตยตอตนเองในขณะศึกษาบทเรียน และปฏิบัติกิจกรรม โดยไมเปดดูเฉลยคำตอบกอนทำเสร็จ 5.ทำกิจกรรมตามใบงานที่กำหนดดวยความมั่นใจ ถาทำไมไดหรือสงสัยใด ๆ ใหพยายามศึกษาทบทวนบทเรียนที่ผานมาและตรวจคำตอบกับเฉลยไดทันที หลังจากทำกิจกรรมเสร็จสิ้นแลว 6.เมื่อศึกษาเนื้อหาจนจบบทเรียนแลว ใหทำแบบทดสอบหลังเรียนเพื่อ ประเมินวาผูเรียนมีความรูความเขาใจเน้ือหาท้ังหมดมากนอยเพียงใดอีกครั้งหน่ึงและดูเฉลยแบบทดสอบหลังเรียนไดในภาคผนวก ผูเรียนสามารถทราบผลการพัฒนาตนเองไดจากการเปรียบเทียบผลคะแนนจากการทดสอบกอนและหลังเรียน

ลักษณะในการนำเสนอ Topic Noun คือตองเปนคำนามเทานั้น วิธีหา Topic Noun งาย ๆ ท่ีหลายคนนึกไมถึงและใชเวลาหาในชวงระยะเวลา อันส้ัน แมวาเนื้อเรื่องนั้นจะมีความยาวเพียงใดก็ตาม นั่นคือ ใหสังเกตวาคำนามใดในเนื้อเรื่องที่มีการพูดถึงบอยครั้งที่สุด หรือคำนามที่มีความถี่สูงสุดในเนื้อเรื่อง ในการนับ ความถ่ีของคำนามน้ัน นอกจากเราจะนับคำที่ใชซ้ำ ๆ กันแลว เรายังตองนับตัวreference (คำที่ใชอางถึง) ที่หมายถึงคำนามนั้นรวมเขาไปดวย เชน

Topic Idea

Topic Idea มีลักษณะการนำเสนอเปนกลุมของคำนาม หรือที่เรียกวา นามวลี(Noun Phrase) Topic Idea ตางกับ Topic Noun ตรงที่ Topic Ideaนั้นจะทำใหขอบเขตของ Topic Noun นั้นแคบลง พูดงาย ๆ ก็คือ ชี้เฉพาะลงไปวา เปนอะไร หรือดานไหน สำหรับเรื่องนั้น ๆ ยกตัวอยางเชนในหัวขอที่ 1 เราทราบจาก Topic Noun ของเรื่องคือคำวา Plant ดูคราว ๆ แคหัวขอจะยังไมรูวาเปนเรื่องอะไรเกี่ยวกับ plant ดังนั้น Topic Idea จะทำใหหัวขอของ plant นั้นแคบลง การหา Topic Idea ที่งายที่สุดก็คือ สังเกตความถี่ของคำที่เกี่ยวของกับคำนามนั้น ๆ เชน คำกริยา หรือสวนขยายเพ่ือมาประกอบใหเกิดความหมายที่ชัดเจนขึ้น เชน จาก Example 1 คำนามท่ีกลาวถึงในเน้ือเรื่องมากท่ีสุด คือ plant กริยาที่มีความถี่สูงที่สุด คือ grow ฉะนั้น Topic Idea ของ Example 1 คือ plant growth หรือ The growth of plants เพื่อความเขาใจ โปรดดูตัวอยางเพิ่มเติม

Topic Sentence

Topic Sentence หรือเรียกอีกอยางหนึ่งวา Main Idea มีลักษณะเหมือน Topic Idea ตางกันแค Topic Idea เปนกลุมคำ แต Topic Sentence จะเปน ประโยคสามารถปรากฏอยูในเนื้อเรื่อง และมีชื่อเรียกอีกอยางหนึ่งวา Main Idea แต Main Idea บางประเภท็ไมปรากฎในเร่ือง ผูอานตองสรุปเอาเองซ่ึงจะนำเสนออยางละเอียดตอไปในหัวขอของ Main Idea สำหรับตอนนี้ขอเสนอ ตัวอยางใหเห็นคราว ๆ ดังนี้

I. Birds are excellent source of food. Chickens and turkeys are examples of birds which supply man with great quantities of meat. Chickens and other birds also supply eggs. J. Between 1846 and 1854 about a million Irish died of starvation. During that time, more than one and a half million Irish left their country.
