ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS

BARNEY L. CAPEHART, Ph.D., C.E.M., is a professor emeritus of indus-trial and systems engineering at the University of Florida inGainesville. He has broad experience in the commercial/industrial sec-tor having served as director of the University of Florida IndustrialAssessment Center from 1990 to 1999. He personally conducted over100 audits of industrial facilities, and has helped students conductaudits of hundreds of office buildings, small businesses, governmentfacilities, and other commercial facilities. He is the lead author for theGuide to Energy Management textbook, the founding editor of the En-cyclopedia of Energy Engineering and Technology, and the co-authoror editor of five other energy books. Dr. Capehart is the creator ofAEE’s Five-day Training Program for Energy Managers, and has trainedover 10,000 energy managers in that program.

ERIC A. WOODROOF, Ph.D., C.E.M., is widely recognized both nation-ally and internationally for helping energy and environmental projectsget approved and implemented, having helped over 400 organizationsand governments improve profits with energy-environmental solutions.He brings to this program over 15 years’ experience in energy man-agement, consulting, and training. His clients have included large cor-portions, universities, airports, utilities, cities, and U.S. and foreigngovernments. He has written widely in the field, is chairman of AEE’sCarbon & GHG Reduction Manager (CRM) program certification board,and is a board member for AEE’s Certified Energy Manager (CEM) pro-gram since 1999. WARREN M. HEFFINGTON, Ph.D., P.E., C.E.M., is the founding direc-tor of the Industrial Assessment Center at Texas A&M University,which has provided over 450 industrial assessments. The U.S. DOE hascontracted with this center to provide national training on the indus-trial assessment process. Dr. Heffington personally has directed about200 industrial assessments and has supervised the review of over 300energy audit reports for commercial and institutional buildings. He hasbeen active in research on industrial demand and duty factors, and onthe energy audit process. He is an associate professor of mechanicalengineering at Texas A&M University, where he teaches a graduatecourse in industrial energy management.

WAYNE C. TURNER, Ph.D., P.E. (Retired), C.E.M., is a regents professoremeritus in the School of Industrial Engineering and Management atOklahoma State University where he taught for 33 years. As founder/director of OSU’s Industrial Assessment Center, he has conducted orsupervised well over 1000 energy audits for industrial and commercialfacilities. Dr. Turner has broad experience in energy management, andhas authored five textbooks and numerous articles in professionalmagazines and journals. He has won many teaching and professionalawards, and has been listed in several Who’s Who. He has served aspast president of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and is inAEE’s Hall of Fame. He is presently Editor-In-Chief of Energy Engi-neering and Strategic Planning for Energy and the Environment, bothof which are journals published by AEE.
