We are a growing architectural practice with a passionate team of staff, possessing experience across a diverse range of projects.

Our Director Greg Adsett has been in private practice since 1994. In 2004 Elevation Architecture Studio was formed. Since then, we have established an office in Victoria in early 2009, while in recent times have secured projects in New South Wales and South Australia. Today our company consists of architects, architectural graduates, senior architectural technicians, architectural students and administration staff.

3.0 About EAS

KEY STAFF

Director Greg Adsett has been in private practice since 1994 and has extensive experience as a Project Architect in projects up to a value of $40 million. He is also a Green Star Accredited Professional.

Partner Von Soh has overseen major residential and resort projects in Australia and Abu Dhabi. Highly experienced as a Senior Design Architect, Von has also worked closely with Development Managers as the 2IC to the Director Acquisitions at Mirvac.


The size of our office allows our Director or Partner to be personally involved in every project.

Elevation Architecture Studio is equipped with computer technology which allows client involvement in every step of the design process through 3D visualisation of proposed designs. It also provides for convenient distribution of information to relevant project consultants.

Our office utilises Graphisoft’s ArchiCAD software package, a specialised program catered to architecture. ArchiCAD allows us to model every project in three dimensions for greater accuracy and efficiency. Its advanced Building Information Modelling capabilities are second-to-none, enabling interdisciplinary collaboration between us and relevant consultants. In addition, the use of Artlantis Studio and BIMx Explorer programs enable our clients to visualise buildings in vivid image form, or as an interactive, walk-through computer model.

Integrated Management System and Qualifications

Elevation Architecture Studio has developed an Integrated Management System, certified to the AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 standard. Having consequently gained a PQC rating of 3, we are a pre-qualified consultant with the Queensland Government. In addition, our Director Greg Adsett is a Green Building Council of Australia Green Star Accredited Professional, possessing advanced knowledge about environmentally sustainable design.

4.0 How we work

Project Architect Sascha Christensen has particular expertise in sustainable and residential design, interior design and project management.

Cad Manager/Project Leader Rodger Van Raalte has over 16 years of building documentation experience, including large scale residential, commercial, mixed use, education, retail, leisure and health care projects.


Elevation Architecture Studio values, and is committed to, implementing Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) concepts.

Contemporary 20-unit development forming Stage Two of the Graceville Riverside Village mixed-use development.

The River Park Villas were designed to incorporate views to the park it faces. A modern theme has been used, featuring 20 apartments set within three storeys, plus a basement carpark. Lift access is available to all floors, and only two apartments are placed per floor in each block to ensure privacy and exclusivity.

Ascot ResidenceAscot, QLD

A striking example of contemporary Queensland residential architecture.

An initial brief calling for a contextually sensitive, yet modern home worthy of its surroundings resulted in a fresh invention of the traditional Queenslander home. Throughout the residence, a subdued palette is contrasted against the tactility of natural materials such as timber and stone. An abundance of light, combined with the careful selection of premium materials and finishes, allows the beauty of subtropical Queensland to be richly conveyed throughout an airy and comfortable interior.

The Graceville Riverside Village development features 12 residential units and 1000 sqm of retail space. The project was designed for staged construction, with a 20-unit apartment complex later added to complete the precinct.

Maine Road Classroom RefurbishmentClontarf, QLD

A cost effective, contemporary redevelopment of an existing classroom block, greatly enhancing student comfort and amenity.

Client Grace Lutheran Primary School

A drab existing classroom block, complete with cage-like grills for the upper level, was redeveloped into a contemporary, airy learning facility. Breakout areas and the creation of balconies between classrooms allow for new possibilities in shared learning. Feature panels also serve as students’ port racks, while perforated mesh, MiniOrb panel highlights and metal balustrades provide a contemporary aesthetic. These features allowed the opening of verandah spaces, greatly increasing natural light and ventilation to upper level classrooms.

Maine Road LibraryClontarf, QLD

Utilising a contemporary aesthetic, the building is a modern interpretation of the ideals of the traditional Queenslander.

Orientation and geometry, combined with ample openings and interior voids, capture breezes and encourage cross ventilation while connecting the library building with the school campus.

An open, flexible interior allows for interactive displays, installations and varied layouts, optimising the space for primary school learning.

Oxenham Street Library Warwick, QLD

Designed to budget, the project focussed on the flexibility of internal spaces so that different uses can be accommodated at different times of the day.

The library’s open space planning incorporated pockets of micro-spaces created through the placement of furniture. Water tanks, extensive eaves and window shading, minimal openings to the west are examples of passive design strategies employed in this building which ensure reduced environmental impact and energy requirements.

Status Design Development

Located in Burketown in far north-western Queensland, the Burke Shire Council Chambers and Community Hub is a multipurpose building designed to Queenslander ideals. Passive design and lightweight construction are especially important for its harsh climatic context. Internal spaces are flexible in nature and can be used as a gallery, a library, and for council meetings.

El Kanah Guest House and Retreat CentreMarysville, VIC

A contemporary reinterpretation of the beloved Tudor-style El Kanah facility destroyed in the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009.

The El Kanah design features 23 bedrooms and conference facilities, with scope for future expansion. Warm and inviting, its architectural language is instantly recognisable for visitors. Materials, textures and colour have been combined to create an earthy, relaxing environment perfect for rehabilitation.

Undoubtledly, the new El Kanah will become a cherished local landmark for years to come.

Greg AdsettDirector

Greg became a qualified architect in 1994 and has been in private practice for 16 years. Prior to that, he worked in a large Brisbane firm for 5 years. He is a registered architect in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

Greg has experience on a variety of project types, and extensive experience as a Project Architect. He has co-ordinated projects with construction values ranging up to $40 million.

Von SohPartner

Von re-joined Elevation in January 2009 and was made partner in 2010. He brings experience from large architectural offices located in Brisbane and Gold Coast. He has extensive experience in design and project management for both residential and commercial projects and can adapt to various design guidelines. His folio includes hospital extension, residential and commercial towers to resorts both internationally and locally. He also has extensive masterplanning experience.

Today at Elevation, Von manages projects with a team of experienced staff.

Rodger joined Elevation in November 2009, bringing to the team over 16 years of architectural drafting and design, CAD drafting, and contract administration experience. He studied architectural drafting in New Zealand and became a qualified Architectural Draftsperson in 1995 with a New Zealand Certificate in Architectural Drafting. His broad project experience includes residential, multi-unit residential, large commercial, retail, mixed use, high-rise, education, leisure and health care projects.

Rodger is leading the documentation team at Elevation Architecture Studio.

Rebecca MurnaneProject Leader

After finishing her Diploma in Melbourne, Rebecca soon started work with a local company in Warragul where she worked for 4 years with a Building Designer. Rebecca moved to Brisbane in 2004 and began working with Adsett Lillis Architects, now known as Elevation Architecture Studio. She has since returned to Victoria and now predominantly works on projects in Victoria. Rebecca has experience in design and documentation for residential, commercial, industrial, educational and community projects. Her folio includes individual and multi residential projects, industrial buildings, school buildings, churches, childcare centres and interior fitouts for retail tenancies.

Elana joined Elevation Architecture in July 2012. She previously worked in diverse sales and marketing roles for an international education provider. She not only brings a great range of customer service and administrative skills to our team, but also a strong passion for design and sustainable living.
