basketballcoachwithanofficialstartdateofMay21,2012.Sirokipreviouslywastheathleticdirectorandtheheadmen’sbasketballcoachatGalenUniversityinBelize,CentralAmerica.Siroki,theteamMVPasaseniorandthree-timeletterwinneratpointguardfortheTitansin1990-93,guidedWestminstertoa58-29recordduringhisfouryearsasanundergraduate.

“It’sadreamcometrue,really,”saidSiroki.“Therehavebeenalotofgreatcoachesbeforeme.Iwantmyplayerstoworkasafamily,that’stheTitantradition.Havingafamilyatmospherethatincludesalumniandpastplayerscomingtothegamesandbeingpartoftheprogramisimportantto

me.”Sirokiwillbringawealthofexperiencefromthenationallevelaswellasthecollegiate

arena.Sirokihasearnedmultiplechampionshipsandawardsinprofessionalinternationalbasketball,asaplayerandasacoach,overthepast10years.Prior,Sirokiwastheassistantmen’sbasketballcoachatTiffinUniversity(00-01)andWestminster(1998-2000).

“IamverypleasedandexcitedthatKevinhasacceptedouroffertobethenextmen’sbasketballcoachatWestminster,”saidtheschool’sathleticdirectorJimDafler.“EveryonewhoknowsKevinknowsofhistirelessenergy,hisenthusiasmandpositiveattitude,hispassionforcompetition,andhisloveforTitanbasketball.Iamconfidentthestudent-athleteshecoacheswillcometodisplaymost,ifnotall,ofthesesamecharacteristics.”

a109-135recorduntilJohnLawthertookoverin1926andbegantolaythegroundworkformorethansixdecadesofwinninghoops.Lawthercoachedthroughthe1935-36season,steppingdownfromthehelmwithacareerrecordof164-44,includinga37-33winoverSt.John’sinthefirstcollegiatedoubleheaderplayedatMadisonSquareGardenonDec.29,1934.

GeorgeRoarkthensteppedinforaseasonandledtheTi-tanstoa14-7campaignbeforethenextgreatWestminstermen-tor,GroverWashabaugh,signedonfora19-seasonstint.Underhisguidance,Titanbasketballcontinuedtoflourish,compilinga297-129record.TheteamevenearnedaninvitationtotheNITin1941,whereitputupquiteascrapbeforesuccumbingtoClair

Bee’sLongIslandUniversityteam,48-36.ThecaptainofthatNITteam,C.G.“Buzz”Ridl,succeeded

Washabaughascoachin1956and,likehistwopredecessors,keptTitanbasketballnearthetopofthesmall-collegeheap.Ridl’sTitansposteda216-91record,advancingtwicetotheNAIAchampionshipgame,andtwicetothesemifinals.Overall,Ridl,whowasselectedasoneoffivecoachesontheNAIAGoldenAnniversaryAll-Starbasketballteamin1986,tookhisteamtothenationaltournamentsixtimes.And,in1962,RidlsawhisTitanshonoredbybothwireservicesasthenation’stopsmall-collegebasketballteam.

In1968,however,RidlmovedontotheUniversityofPittsburghandatwo-timeAll-AmericanfromRidl’s‘62squad,C.RonaldGalbreath,tookoverthereins.

Initially,GalbreathcoachedforonlyoneseasonbeforemovingontoClarionforfiveyears,buthereturnedagainin1974.Inthe1996-97season,Galbreathpostedhis500thcareervictory,becomingjustthe36thactivecoachatthattimeatanyleveltoreachthatmark.CountinghisfiveseasonsatClarion,heconcludedhisTitanmen’sbasketballcoachingcareerwith523careerwins,andistheall-timeleaderinwinsatWestminsterwith448.

WhenWestminsterlefttheNAIAin1998theTitansweretheall-timewinningestbasketballprogramintheNAIAwith1,299wins.Now,inNCAADivisionIIItheTitansexpecttocon-tinuetorecordvictoriestoremainoneofthewinningestcollegebasketballprogramsinanydivisionoratanylevelinthenation.
