Thank you for attending the 2017 Light Their Way Auction, and for your support of St. Teresa’s Academy!

As STA’s largest fundraiser, tonight’s auction is essential in providing our students with the most advanced educational curriculum, technology, and facilities, as well as the most talented and dedicated teaching staff available. As the theme of the evening suggests, the funds raised help light the way toward our students’ bright futures.

As we’ve seen over the course of the last 151 years, St. Teresa’s women leave the Windmoor campus and proceed to help change the world. Their amazing contributions have been shown to impact their communities, their corporations or organizations, and their families in meaningful and enlightening ways. As you mix and mingle during this fun-filled evening, I’m sure you’ll recognize many STA women who embody these significant ideals.

Master of CeremoniesCHRISTA DUBILL

Christa Dubill works as an Emmy award-winning anchor with a passion for information. She anchors 41 Action News weekday evenings, where she is known for her comfortable and friendly delivery. Even difficult news is somehow a little easier to take if Christa is the one telling you about it.

Christa grew up in Independence, Kansas, and attended the University of Kansas. After pursuing her career across the country, she came home to Kansas City in 2007. Outside of the newsroom, Christa and her husband, David, stay busy with two young sons, Andrew and Ryan. As with many young families, they may often be found racing from baseball, soccer, basketball, and other sports, as well as finding time for their own volunteer activities.

St. Teresa’s Academy is fortunate to welcome Christa back this year as master of ceremonies after her debut at the 150th Anniversary Gala. Her generous donation of time, talent, and friendly presence create a warm, fun-filled event atmosphere. Her contributions to the Light Their Way Auction are greatly appreciated.

St. Teresa’s will use the Bidpal auction technology for all bidding and purchases. To participate in electronic auction bidding:

During the 2017-2018 school year, St. Teresa’s Academy offered $854,633 in scholarships, discounts, and financial aid to more than 45% of the student body. With your generous help on this night, with a simple raise of your “paddle” (your bid number), we can strive to do better.

Our auctioneer will start the donation levels at the approximate cost to send one student to school at St. Teresa’s Academy for one year, $15,000. The auctioneer will then move down to the next lower donation level.
