To rid your mics of windnoise and mic thumps, eachof the four mic channels hasa Low Cut Filter that elimi-nates subsonic noise. Loshelving EQ can now beused for the upper low fre-quencies, instead of as amakeshift low frequencycut-off.

To make level-settingsimple, the MS1202-VLZhas PFL Solo on everychannel. That, along withthe Level Set Marker at the1202’s ultra-sensitive L/RLEDs, lets you take advan-tage of our VLZ design andmaximize headroom.

MS1202-VLZ’s musical3-band EQ will take care ofit. We chose 12kHz, 2.5kHzand 80Hz to make our EQmore practical to the needsof today’s sound engineers– not those of thirty years ago.

Flexibility you need.The MS1202-VLZ is loadedwith flexible mixdown andmonitor routing possibilities.

Mute/Alt 3-4 is a dual-purpose feature: Normally,the mute button on eachchannel acts that way – as amute. But when the Alt 3-4outputs are in use, the buttonacts as a router to the 3-4stereo bus. You can createtwo stereo pairs for 4-trackrecording or for an extramonitor or cry room mix.

EFX to Monitor lets youblend reverb or other effectsback into a monitor mix viaAux Send 1.

Aux 1’s Pre/Post switchlets you set it for pre-fader/post-EQ use – greatfor stage monitor mixes, orpost-fader/post-EQ, whichis handy for studio effects.It also has a level controlfor added flexibility.

Control Room/Phoneshas its own level controland separate outputs, al-lowing you to select anycombination of Main Mix,Tape In and Alt 3-4 so youcan create custom head-phone mixes, monitor tapelevels, and more. A sepa-rate switch routes thismulti-source signal backinto the Main Mix.

Balanced XLR Main Out-puts – which are switch-able to mic or line level –make it easy to use theMS1202-VLZ with profes-sional audio and videoequipment. Main outputsare also available at 1/4”jacks. And of course, all the

mixer’s inputs and outputsare balanced (except chan-nel inserts, phones andRCA jacks). You can alsouse unbalanced cables ifneed be.

Durable and solid.Greg Mackie designed theMicroSeries 1202-VLZ thesame way he designs everyMackie mixer: to stand upto non-stop, 24 hour-a-dayprofessional duty. In broad-cast and PA applications, TVand radio production stu-dios, video post suites –wherever a high qualitycompact mixer is desired.

Sealed, co-molded rotarycontrols keep the MS1202-VLZfree from airborne dust andcontamination better thanthe open-frame phenolicpots others use. Mackie’spots provide minimal con-tact noise, and their design– along with the energy-absorbing way they’remounted to the mixer –helps prevent impactdamage.

Along with its steel chas-sis and thru-hole-plated

fiberglass circuit boards, theMicroSeries 1202-VLZ alsofeatures a built-in powersupply instead of a “wallwart.” Not only does thiseliminate the inevitablehassles of dealing with ex-ternal power supplies, italso reduces hum. The tinytransformers in wall wartswaste more energy, andcan introduce additionalhum into the mix. Not sowith our built-in powersupply. It introduces far lessnoise – and far less trouble.

RFI protection is imple-mented with circuitry andconstruction that makesthe MS1202-VLZ virtuallyimpervious to RF interfer-ence in high-energyenvironments.
