ServLife International propels reconciliation and justice by building global community to plant churches, care for children and fight poverty. Our work in India and Nepal has doubled in the last three years, serving twice as many children, families and churches. This growth is only possible through your help, and we are grateful for your continued support for pastors, children and families!
Starting October 1st, all donations to ServLife during the fall campaign will be matched up to $100,000! We hope that you will seize this opportunity to double your impact and help start more churches, rescue more children and empower more families through small business loans. Please browse through this booklet and check out the Impact Opportunities page at the back to choose where to invest your donation.
Now that my church is sharing the gospel with the
local people, many of them are coming to Christ. They are hungry for salvation and a new life,” Pastor Kanaya says. “They are leaving their idol worship and prostitution, and they
are becoming aware that a drunken lifestyle is bad for them. So they are truly improving their lives through the help of the Gospel. I believe that God will provide everything we need to continue to change and improve our community.”
Pastor Kanaya’s west Nepali community faces a lot of challenges. He works among a low-caste people group who are struggling in crippling poverty and attempting to cope through means of idol worship, alcoholism, gambling, and prostitution. But Pastor Kanaya heard God’s call in Isaiah 6:8 to go for Him where others need salvation. So that is exactly what he is doing: spreading hope and a better way of life among his community.

We call him our Mowgli,” Children’s
Home Manager, Camillus, shares. “We
call him that because for a long time he lived in
the jungle. The dog was his best friend, and the
monkeys were his friends, and he would spend all
day in the jungle playing with them… The day
when he came here he really looked like a jungle boy, he had this long hair
and he was so dirty, I mean you could tell that
he lived in the jungle. He’s been here since then and
we are taking care of him and he’s getting a
good education.”
Before coming to the ServLife India children’s home, Jon was a jungle boy. His father had passed away and his mother re-married, abandoning Jon to fend for himself in the forests around his village. Jon was rescued by a local pastor and is now thriving. He’s energetic, mischievous and often hilarious, but most importantly he’s getting the food, love, and education he needs to build a bright future for himself and others.

Kalyan village is 4.5 hours from the nearest city and accessible only by fording a river and climbing treacherous mountain roads. Villagers there live on less than $1/day, with very few ways to grow their income. A Hope Fund micro-loan provides people like Tuilsara (pictured above) with livestock or supplies to run their own business. With loans getting repaid and redistributed, entire villages can escape the cycle of poverty.

My family had few options for making money before we got a Hope Fund loan,” Tulisara shares,
“We received several goats and started earning money selling the babies every six months. However, we needed money more consistently to provide for our family’s needs. So we sold all but two of the goats and bought a sewing machine. We opened a tailoring shop and now we are earning money every day. We are able to send all three of our children to school with the income from this loan. It has made all the difference for our family.”
On April 25, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit central Nepal, followed by a 7.3 magnitude on May 12. Aftershocks have continued for months in the 4-5 magnitude range. Over 8,000 people have died and over 500,000 homes have been destroyed. At a ServLife board meeting two weeks after the first earthquake, one member insightfully shared, “The mission of ServLife is exactly what Nepal needs right now, and into the future.”
Our pastors and directors have led our charge with earthquake relief. We have assisted 4,000 people so far, providing food, tarps, tents, fresh water equipment and intermediate housing. ServLife’s relief efforts are in three phases: Short Term efforts focused on providing food, water and tarps/tents. Intermediate efforts are providing temporary housing. The Long Term response will include any necessary relocations, micro-finance businesses and long-term housing solutions.
The earthquake damaged our whole
village. No one could save anything from
their homes,” Pastor Kamal explains. “During the time
when we really needed relief the government couldn’t
reach us, but ServLife came to us and they really
helped and provided for our needs. Before the
earthquake, lots of our neighbors did not have a good attitude toward
Christians but now, after ServLife provided temporary shelters for our whole village, they
have changed their minds. It’s opened a way for the Gospel.”

“Training pastors and taking care of orphans—there’s probably not a better strategy to bless the world, and that’s what ServLife is doing. I saw it firsthand a few months ago and can say with no qualifications that Jesus couldn’t be prouder. If you want to participate in what Jesus is doing, partner with ServLife.”- Pastor Austin Fischer, Vista Community Church (Pictured below)
