Personal Development Now that we have the business details out of the way, let’s talk about your personal development. You are now in the people busi-ness, and who you become is what your downline will duplicate. To guarantee a residual income that will continue to grow, you need to begin your own journey into serious personal development. In this business if you want more, you must become more. Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Begin your personal development habits now. You’ll be the leader of a large organization soon. It’s a proven fact that those who write down goals and make themselves accountable are far more likely to succeed than those who don’t. It’s time to commit your dreams to paper and attach goals, deadlines, and accountability to them. To get started on your goals, ask yourself these important questions:• How much money do I need to make per month to make this

business worthwhile?• How many hours each week can I realistically commit to reach

that goal?• How many months am I willing to work at that pace in order to

reach that goal?

Short-Term Goals Successful goal setting includes breaking down your goals into manageable parts and listing the daily habits that will get you there. For example, to become a Manager you’ll need 2,000 Group Volume (GV). You’ll need the equivalent of 10 Distributors in your downline with a monthly Autoship of 200PV each. You can either sponsor them yourself or get those you sponsor to help you do it. To reach this goal, you’re going to develop critical daily habits that turn into weekly goals. Here are a few of the critical habits you’ll need on your list:• Make a certain number of contacts every day• Schedule time with your upline or accountability partner for

3-way calls every day• Hold or attend with your guests at least one weekly home

meeting or conference call• Send out a specific number of Xyngular sales tools for long-

Long-Term Goals Start with goals that are easy to reach and gradually add habits and disciplines until you’re accomplishing your goals. Schedule and Build for Events We are serious when we say Xyngular Events are not optional if you want to build a residual income at Xyngular. Events are where your team builds their belief in the company and its leaders. It’s where they feed on the excitement of other Distributors and leaders. This is a positive, people business where momentum is king. Teams that attend events together build momentum. It starts with simple

weekly conference calls and local team meetings. Schedule yourself to attend every regional meeting and quarterly Xyngular event. Learn how to qualify for the Xyngular Passport Program and plan to earn every possible trip the company offers. It will drive your success and ignite your team.

Action Step #4: Build Your Dream Team Take a moment and think who among your friends, family, and associates you would love to work with. Who will make your new career more fun? Action Step #5: Contact and Invite With your list completed, you need to start contacting and inviting people to look at the Xyngular products and opportunity. But if you are looking for a few proven methods that have worked for top Xyngular leaders, you may want to use the following tips and scripts. 8 Principles of a Successful Invitation• Always Be in a Hurry. You want to avoid giving contacts too much information on the phone before

they see the big picture at your presentation. Your job is to set the appointment, not give a full presentation. Get in and out of the conversation quickly to create curiosity. Example: “I have to get to an appointment right away, but I had just a minute to call you and…”

• Be Enthusiastic. The person with the highest energy will usually get what he or she is seeking. Set your enthusiasm level one notch above the person you’re talking to.

• Clear the Night Before You Invite. Example: “Hey, what are you doing Wednesday night?” • Whoever Asks the Questions is in Control. Often the person you contact starts asking a ton of

questions. If you don’t know what to do, you’ll end up overloading them with information. If this starts to happen, take back control with a question: “Let me ask you a question… It seems to me that with all these questions, you’ve got some interest. Why don’t we set a time to get you all the answers to your questions?”

• Point at a Tool to Answer Their Questions. Have a brochure, product sheets, compensation plan fliers and other tools handy. Or you can give a 3-way call to your sponsor who can answer their questions.

• Use “Hot Buttons” to Motivate Them. Everyone has a dream. When you ask the right questions, you’ll find it. When you discover their dreams, you can say something like, “I think there might be a way for you to get…”

• Develop a Follow Up System Immediately. Take a few notes of your conversation and decide how you’re going to follow up before you move on to your next call. A little organization here goes a long way.

• Invite Friends to Facebook Events. That’s a way to contact your Facebook friends without “spamming” them.

Helpful Scripts When you’re just beginning and are not sure how to get the conversation started, turn to one of these helpful scripts and then watch as you gain momentum and confidence. Script 1: “You may or may not be interested” This is one of the most successful scripts in our industry. There are three parts:• Share. “I have something I’d like to share with you.”• 15 minutes. “It will only take 15 minutes.” Most people can carve out 15 minutes.• “You may or may not be interested.” This takes the pressure off and opens their mind to consider what

[natural chit-chat] The reason for my call is to ask for your help. I just started a new business that I’m really excited about. I can see some great potential in it. But that’s where I need your help. “I’ve always valued your opinion. Would you be willing to take about an hour of your time and review this business with me? I’d like to know how you’d build this business if it were yours. I’m also looking for some strong partners, and I’d appreciate it if you could think of anyone who might fit. Will you do that for me?”

ACTION STEP: With your sponsor, practice the scripts you feel most comfortable with until you’re ready to pick up the phone and try them. Then call 20 people and try them out. For the first five calls let your sponsor take the lead. Then the next five, you take the lead! Next, you’ll be ready to do the next 10 calls on your own.

Helpful Hints

• Make phone calls every day inviting people to 2-way, 3-way, and conference call presentations.

• Do what you say you’ll do. If you invite people over for dinner, let them know you’re planning an opportunity meeting. Avoid any hint of “bait and switch.”

• If you hold home meetings, always have at least two meetings scheduled so when someone can’t make the first one, you can invite them to the next one.

Make Your Own Great Story Xyngular Distributors are “paid storytellers.” When someone asks you what you do, it’s fun to answer, “I’m a paid storyteller. I tell the first one for free. Do you want to hear it?” Building highly effective personal stories is one of the most important exercises you will ever do. Professional networkers are always practicing their stories because they know stories sell and stories recruit.

Borrow Stories Within your first 30 days, you’ll only get started building your money story or even your weight loss story. You may need to borrow stories until you get your own. Take the time to read through the testimonials on the website. Print out the most compelling ones and start sharing them with your friends. Listen to conference calls and take notes of the great stories. When someone asks you early in your first 30 days how much weight you’ve lost already or how much money you’re making, simply tell them someone else’s story and say, “I’ve only been at this for a short time, but already the same thing is starting to happen for me.”

What Makes a Great Story The main elements of your story should be like a great children’s story, like Cinderella or Peter Rabbit. There is a “before” situation that is typically a need or problem, a “critical decision” or action, and an “after,” your personal happy ending. It’s easy to tell a product or weight-loss story. Action Step #7: Master the Art of the Close Possibly the most important part of your presentation is helping your prospect make a decision to buy or enroll. Those who master this skill will outperform others. This section will show you how you can master the art of the close and see amazing results because of it. First, Assume a Positive Result Masters of closing understand that their own attitude is critical to getting positive results. When you assume the best possible result, you send a feeling of confidence and trust that helps your prospect move forward. You look at the objections as requests for more information rather than rejection. Next, “Qualify” Your Prospect Qualifying is listening and learning about your prospect. It will make closing so much easier. If you see them in a new Xyngular career, you’ll need to find out what they really want. You want to know if they have a great personality for this business and influence over others. You’re asking questions to discover the pain-points that Xyngular will solve for them. Ask a few questions that could become their WHY for starting a home-based business. Ask about their experience with home-based businesses, with weight-loss programs and nutrition. Then listen. Now, Listen and Watch for Buying Signals There are both verbal and non-verbal buying signals. A question can be a signal, like, “How long does it take to ship?” or, “What does a package like this cost?” A non-verbal buying signal can be something like unfolding the arms and moving forward, showing greater enthusiasm, or picking up a product and handling it as though they already owned it. When you see a buying signal, stop talking and close. You can actually lose the opportunity if you drone on with your presentation after your prospect has decided they want it. Lastly, Three Simple Closes• Offer a choice that assumes one of three positive decisions. For example, “Would you like to only be a

customer and buy the products, would you like to make a little money, or would you rather make a lot of money? Whichever you choose is fine with me.”

• Assume they’re ready to move forward by getting them on your laptop or putting a paper product or enrollment form in front of them and showing them how fill it out. This is a simple and straightforward way to close. If you’re at their home, you simply ask, “Do you have Internet access? Let’s get you enrolled.”3D

• Close the sale by attaching an additional product to enhance what they’ve shown they are interested in. “Adding our AXION supplements to your CORE4 package is going to improve the absorption of the ingredients, and make them work even better.” If they accept the addition, they’re ready to move forward on the original package.

How to Handle an Objection Research shows that a prospect will say no or raise an objection, on average, five times before they actually buy. An objection is not a rejection of you personally. It’s actually a good thing. It means they’re interested enough to ask for more information. You’ll want to expect and even look forward to objections during the sales process.

The 3-Way Call Close

One of the best ways to help a key contact overcome an objection is to arrange for a 3-way call with your sponsor or another team member who at one time had similar misgivings or who is skilled at overcoming the particular objection. When you hear their objection, say, “I have a friend who has lost a lot of weight in a very short time using Xyngular. He’s wasted money on a lot of different systems, so he’d be perfect to answer your questions. Would it be all right if we called him?

Step 1: Hear Them Out Treat objections with respect and hear them out. You lose trust and rapport if you interrupt when you should be listening. Even though you may have heard that same objection dozens of times, resist the temptation to start answering them too quickly.

Step 2: Feed it Back for ClarityYou’ll want to restate and agree on the specific objection before you start answering it. Sometimes just repeating their objection in the form of a question helps them answer it themselves. You can also ask them how important the objection is to them. It could actually be an unimportant stall. For example, “If you knew this really worked to help you lose 50 or 60 pounds, could you find the money for it?”

Step 3: Answer the ObjectionWhen answering an objection, resist the temptation to over-educate them in an effort to impress them with how knowledgeable you are. Give them big-picture answers and only give details as a last resort. People love to buy, but they don’t like to be “sold.” So it’s best to mentally show them that you see everything from their point of view, not your own. And always be sure to verify that you have successfully answered their question. Often an objection will come up before you’ve given enough information to set up the answer. You’ll want to delay answering the objection. It may be wise to make a note of the question and ask if it’s alright to answer it later in your presentation. However, if the same objection comes up again, you may want to stop and address it immediately.

Step 4: Close AgainYou may ask for the order several times in several ways. For example, “How soon do you need to lose the weight? Do you have a special event coming up?” or, “How much money would you need to make a month to make this worth your while?” Then say, “If I can show you a way to make that happen, are you ready to move forward?” Remain patient but be persistent. NEVER get into an argument. Remember: “feel, felt, found.”

How to respond to the stall: “I need to think it over.”

What if your first close yields more questions or a stall? You may need to go back to the beginning and qualify them again. You could ask, “So what is it you need to think about? After you handle all their questions and they’re successfully resolved, you can simply ask, “What else is holding you back from jumping in so I can help you get started?”

ACTION STEP: Keep notes of some of the best ways you hear to answer objections. Note the ones in this section and gather them from training calls and presentations you are involved in. Sometimes you’ll overcome an objection in a brilliant way. Make note of it and share it on your team calls.

• Invite Professionally So Follow-Up is Easier Whenever you can, set an appointment for your call back. Don’t leave it to chance. This takes the pressure off both you and your prospect. Don’t pressure your contact for an appointment that’s too soon. If they’re coming on a busy weekend or a crazy week, give them time for their homework. Agree on a specific time to meet again. Give contacts a choice of two times when you’ll call them back. Then, when you do call them back, they won’t feel like you’re “bugging” them. They’ll be expecting your call. This also motivates you to keep your commitments to them.

• Schedule Time Every Day for Follow-Up Calls Professional salespeople understand that scheduling follow-up time is crucial to their success. Keep the scheduling commitments you made with yourself when you started.

• Don’t Be Too Sensitive Many Distributors don’t follow-up because their contacts raise objections, don’t return calls, or keep putting off commitment. You can’t possibly guess the powerful internal struggles your prospects are going through. They won’t tell you. They have too much pride for that. But they do need your help because of the internal conflicts that are keeping them from moving toward their goals. It could be fear of not having the right skills or embarrassment for not keeping promises. They could be afraid of what it will cost or how much time it will take.

Remind yourself that every follow-up call is a human being with a serious problem and a hidden longing to overcome it. That will make your calls easier. If you act from sympathy to their point of view and not your own, you’ll know how often to call and if you need to add them to your “drip system” contact list. Try to see the big picture in others’ lives.

Have the Right Mindset about Your Follow Up

You are the advertisement for your business. In a traditional business, thousands of people look at the advertisement yet only a few respond. That doesn’t mean advertising doesn’t work. It means it did work for the few who were looking. If you attract a few good people, you will be very successful.
