What is the Cisco Industrial Networking Specialist certification?
The Cisco Industrial Networking Specialist certification is for Information Technology (IT) and
Operational Technology (OT) professionals in manufacturing, process control and oil and gas
industries, who install, maintain and troubleshoot Industrial Network Systems. This two year
certification ensures successful candidates have the foundational skills to provide network
availability, reliability and cyber security within an industrial network and company. Unlike other
Industrial Networking programs, this certification tests hands on skills through simulations as
well as theory which assures that candidates are ready for real world implementations.
Who is the Cisco Industrial Networking Specialist certification for?
The Cisco Industrial Networking Specialist certification is for Information Technology (IT) and
Operational Technology (OT) professionals in manufacturing, process control and oil and gas
indust-ries, who install, maintain and troubleshoot Industrial Network Systems. These
engineers are working in Manufacturing Plants, Mining, Oil & Gas industries and are using
traditional Operational Technology Systems and Protocols like Programmable Logic
Controllers (PLC). This certification provides a method to reskill and to understand IP
Networks and related technologies such as QoS and Security.
Why should I pursue a Cisco Industrial Networking Specialist certification?
There is a convergence of Information and Operational Technologies (IT/OT Convergence).
This convergence is creating new job roles and responsibilities. For Enterprises to successfully
migrate through this change they are requiring a more skilled staff. Without these new IT skills
OT profession- als may not be included in upcoming projects and or help drive the new
organizations. Reskilling or enhancing your skill set is the best way to progress in your OT/IT
career.
