#1 Be VisualYou have 3 places to add an image: the page background, the header image and the profile pic. Take advantage of this opportunity to brand your profile with your colors and logo.

● Upload a cool background image that has a picture of your building, office space or other industry visual. Use the upper left corner to display important website URLS/email addresses.

● Your profile pic is the best place for your company logo.

● Don’t be afraid to show off your employees.

#2 Name It ProperlyTake your company name and add the word ‘careers’ at the end. Avoid using _underscores or - dashes if possible.

If you post a lot of jobs consider using a job only account like amtrak does:

#3 Use it to SourceThe candidates are there waiting to be discovered. Use the Twitter people search to search for keywords inside people’s bios. Put them into lists.

Use the right keywords in your profile that accurately describe your industry & the skills you hire for. Be sure to add a hashtag in your profile as hashtags are proven to get more engagement.

#6 Tweet good content Post photos of your work environment, employees, company events. Be as visual as possible since tweets with pics get more engagement. Use tools like InstaJob (link) to make instant visual job tweets to share on twitter. Talk about your benefits, give advice...don’t just post jobs.

#7 Location. Location. Location. Make sure your job tweets have a location (ideally city & state) or at least one of them.

Use twitterfeed.com to sync up your job rss feed to your twittter acct for auto-posting while you sleep. Also be sure your profile has a city/state listed.

#10 Do TweekendsTweet at least 5 days a week. If you can tweet on weekends do it.

People tweet less on Saturdays/Sundays so if you are still active your tweets will get more exposure.
