Refreshing desktops can reduce operatingand support costs

Older machines are slower, break down more often and they cost more to maintain and power.

- Repair and maintenance can run up to 1.65x more on a PC older than 3 years1

- PCs older than 3 years are 4.5x more likely to experience a hard drive failure1

The all new 2010 Intel® Core™ processor family provides intelligent performance and efficiency

Quiz: What are the key performance benefits of the all new 2010 Intel® Core™ i5 processor?

- Run business productivity applications 2x faster2

- Up to 30% more energy efficient vs. a 3 year old desktop PC2

- Intel® Turbo Boost Technology speeds up the processor when workloads require extra performance.3

- Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology allows each processor core to work on two tasks at once.4

Page 9: 1 1 Spring 2010 SELLING DESKTOPS TO SMALL BUSINESSES

9

How to Explain It:Think of Intel® Turbo Boost Technology like the air conditioner in a car. In normal mode, the air conditioner delivers a certain amount of air through the dash and floor vents. When you shut off the floor vents, it can use the extra power to deliver more air through the dash.

In the same way, the Intel® Core™ i7 processor is

configured to deliver a certain amount of power to each core. However, if one or more cores is not using that power, the processor can automatically and intelligently divert extra power to the operating core. The result is the operating core can run at a higher than normal frequency and complete its tasks faster.

How to Explain ItIntel® Hyper-Threading Technology gives customers 4-way (and 8-way) multitask processing that allows each core of the processor to work on two tasks at the same time.

Like toasting two pieces of bread in a two-slot toaster instead of using a single-slot toaster twice, you can get more done in the same amount of time.
