DECOR ★★★½
A tastefully decorated, simple, health food café in Koregaon Parkwhich should appeal to anyonewho cares about clean, healthyliving. Run by Australian Bree andher husband Rajan, the couplecame back to India and decidedto make Pune their home at theend of 2013.They decided to fol-low a dream and set up an Aus-tralian style café with a healthytwist. There are half a dozen orso tables outside. Indoors is air-conditioned with nice wooden ta-bles, a solid wooden counter andbright coloured metal chairs.Wa-ter is served from largemedicine bottles andjuices are served insmall and large jamjars.FOOD ★★★★
We started with a‘green juice’ - cucumber, mint, lemon, ginger andparsley which tastes much betterthan it sounds (no bitterness orunpleasant vegetal aftertaste)and a ‘cleanse’ juice with beet-root, carrot and apple. They havea very good range of coffees andorganic teas too. For somethingmore traditional, try the tropical -
watermelon, pineapple and orange. The smoothies are allsugar free and very popular.Westart with the broccoli and ched-dar and carrot and ginger soupsof the day with nachni toast, es-
pecially thoughtfulfor those intolerantto gluten. Most oftheir breads comefrom the Frenchbakery, La BoucheeD’Or on Boat clubroad.Youwill geta
bowl full of boun-tiful goodnesswith their salads.I don’t normallylike the newhealth food on theblock, quinoa, but therainbow salad at One O
Eight with quinoa, carrot and redcabbage in a creamy cashewand basil dressing, was quite thetreat. You’ll forget this is a healthfood café once you taste thepasta bianco with mushrooms, spinach and mature cheddarcheese from Auroville. For a lightlunch I would highly recommendthe bruschetta on the most di-vine pumpkin seed and nutbread (made in-house) bursting
with fresh vegetables, avoca-do and an olive oil
dressing. There areplenty of glutenfree, vegan andeggless options.Don’t come hereexpecting rich
food. Most of theitems on offer are
snacks and a limitedchoice of seasonal
healthful main courses. I am de-lighted to experience a healthfood restaurant where the foodis not only good for you but alsotastes great.Plus and Minus: Great location.Vegetarian with egg.

Bollywood: TheAashiqui 2 jodiof Jeet Gannguliand Ankit Tiwarih a v ecomposed thesoundtrack ofthis romanticthriller. Openingtrack Tu Jo Hainfollows singer-composer Ti-wari’s templateof sad melodies.Everything fromthe singing andarrangements tothe lyrics by Monish Raza bring a sense of déjà vu. Mr. XTitle Song sounds straight out of a James Bond openingsequence. Composed by Gannguli, it has producer (andfilmmaker) Mahesh Bhatt making a delightful singing de-but. Neither Bhatt nor Mili Nair’s powerful vocals are ableto lift this average composition and Rashmi Singh’s pre-dictable lyrics about the leading character. SaadShukrana is Tiwari’s second song on the album. Differentfrom his usual music, it is the kind of track that grows onyou, thanks to Manoj Muntashir’s penmanship. Tiwarichanges tactic as composer with the techno-meets-Sufisong Alif Se. Tiwari and Neeti Mohan work well behindthe mike. The melodious Teri Khushboo is the best songon the album. Composed by Gannguli and written bySingh, it is big on emotions and makes a good show ofromance. The male version is sung by Arijit Singh whilethe female version has the bubbly Palak Muchhal deliv-ering a crowd pleaser. Tiwari and Gannguli deliver amixed bouquet of crowd pleasers, predictable numbersand soul soothers with this soundtrack. No Aashiqui 2this, the album is still a competent one.

Marathi: Are we living in the 90s? Well, at least that’swhat the music of Kaay Raav Tumhi suggests. All fivesongs on this album are distinctly similar to Bollywoodnumbers from the 90s era. Sod Na Ga Rag Ha, sung byRohit Raut is not a very good track but better than thenext, Ye To Pudun sung by Kanak Raj. It is a Kumar Sanumeets EDM track which is nothing but an assault onyour ears. As a film revolving around three lecherousold men, it is bound to have a double entendre songand Halav Halav Re is just that. Vaishali Samant singsthis track like a Koli-geet. Starting off like Le Gayee LeGayee from Dil To Pagal Hai, Porgi Pari Sarkhi sung byKanak is a comic attempt probably. The singer over-does his bit making the song annoying. Finally the al-bum ends with Mahalaxmi Iyer’s Angat Rangat, whodoes her job well. Though her singing is faultless, sheis not able to salvage the song as the music is not upto the mark. To conclude, it is better to give this albuma miss.
Marathi: The music album of Coffee Ani Barach Kahi(CABK) is one that you want to keep listening to becauseof its mesmerising tracks. The album has three songs, allof which have been crooned by the three musketeers, Ro-hit Raut, Sasha Tirupati and Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar, who infuse unique qualities in them. While Rohit bringsenergy, Sasha sweetness, Pandit Sanjeev brings puremaster class on board. Melody is the constant factor bind-ing the songs. The title track Coffee Ani Barach Kahi is acheerful song sung by Rohit and Sasha. The saxophoneand guitar strums go well with the beats and voices of theartistes. Tu Astis Tar starts with a sher and slips into puremelody in Abhyankar’s voice. Mangesh Padgaonkar’sdeeply meaningful lyrics play a very important role in thissong. The last song is Rang He Nave Nave which has be-come quite a craze already. Sasha sings beautifully, jug-gling between Marathi, Hindi and English lyrics so easilythat you hardly notice the languages changing. Aditya Be-dekar has done a good job with the music. We only wishthere were more songs though. Nevertheless, this is onealbum that you can listen to on a loop.
