Naira is a throughly charming 61’ Trad stern narrowboat built in 1990 by Brummagem Boats. She has been in the same family for the last 15 years and has been well looked after. She was last blacked in the spring of 2020, and serviced in Jan 2020. She is technically reverse layout with an unusual and really interesting floor plan, offering a huge amount of living space. From the stern deck you descend into the stern cabin, under which sits the BMC 1.8 diesel engine. Down steps into another cabin which I will call the utility room. This has side hatches either side, and a large wardrobe / hanging locker. There is plenty of space in here for a washing machine to be installed if needed as well as many storage options. A leaded glass door leads into the galley. This has an abundance of cupboard and shelving space and utilities comprise of a 12v fridge, stainless steel sink with draining board, a 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill and the Morco instant gas water heater. The CD/radio is housed in here as well. The open plan saloon / dinette area follows and is vast at 20’ long. It is a lovely warm & cosy social area featuring two super comfy armchairs (with footstools), a Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove as the centrepiece, and the L shaped dinette (which converts into a spare double berth). There is also a fold down table / desk, and a large storage unit. A corridor on the starboard side leads to the bathroom. Unusually large at 6’3”, this houses the Thetford cassette loo, an oval countersunk washbasin and a curtained shower over the hip bath. The fixed double bed is in the forward cabin. There is storage under all of the bed, as well as in the large wardrobe and other shelving/ cupboard units dotted about. Steps lead up into the well deck which has seats / storage lockers on three sides and a fold down table at the front. All the batteries are recently new, and 230v is supplied via the landline hookup point. A lovely home or holiday boat, full of character. Naira 01327 342211 [email protected]
