School Uniform – Many thanks to all of you who are supporting the Carfield Dress Code, rest assured that we are aiming for footwear to be black and as plain as possible, but we are aware that they can be difficult to find and that you may have already purchased footwear this term. Next time you buy, please can you aim for the black/plain footwear? We are discouraging the designer trend that does not support our “ One Carfield” Team ethos.Children are expected to wear uniform on 31st October to school and not Halloween costumes. Thanks for your continued support

Time to say goodbye to Pokemon AND ALL TRADING CARDS including Match Attack! After a half term of reasonable co-operation with the Pokemon card craze, the good will among our children has sadly ended. We have seen an increase in conflicts and upset, with the cards being at the centre of the problems. For this reason, it is my decision to disallow Pokemon and other trading cards in school from Monday 31st October.

Ofsted Visit 13th and 14th October 2016

Thank you to our parents who completed the Parent View survey for our Ofsted team. Your comments were very positive. We remain on a journey to continue to improve our provision for the children, in terms of their learning, the environment we provide and to help them achieve the best that they can whilst making sure that they are happy and safe. The report will be public in about two/three weeks time. We are happy to say that our plans for improvement are in line with the recommendations made by the inspectors. The children were a credit to the school and the inspectors were very impressed by them.

The Viking Raid on Carfield.Y5 were treated to The History Van last Friday and had an interactive experience which included archeological digs, creating timelines and jewellery making. Their written work as a result is very impressive!

She is launching a competition on Friday open to the whole school but the assembly is aimed at the junior aged children. Ms. Hudson will draw children’s names from Y5 to work with Sarah and her team after half term to complete the mural.Ms. Hudson and a group of children have been preparing murals for the garden area behind B and M.
