Christopher Columbus: WHO? An Italian Explorer. WHAT? While searching for a quicker trade route to Asia, he landed on a New World,filled with new people and natural resources WHEN? 1492 WHERE? From Spain Americas (Bahamas) IMPACT ON TEXAS (WHY)? He started theAge of Exploration and ignited the ColumbianExchange

Who: Alonso Alvarez de PiñedaThe year 1519 was very important for Alonso Alvarez de Piñeda and for Texas.

What: Piñeda sailed along the Texas coast toward Mexico. During his journey, he created the first maps and charts of the coast.

When: 1519

Where: Gulf Coast!!!

Impact/why: Because of Piñeda, future explorers knew where to sail to get to Texas.
