Wa terloo road season 1; episode 1

At the very beginning of the episode we see some people running around a field wearing the same uniform so we understand that it is some type of learning building. We also see this when there is a long crane shot later on showing half a building and a big group of people all walking in the same direction. This long shot will create the setting of the school which will create meaning for the audience.

Later on we see a boy dressed in uniform but with a green football jersey over the to, black Adidas joggers and a chain over his neck. Because of the way he is dressed we can see that this student is obeying the school uniform rules. We can tell by the way he is dressed that he may come across as a chav. He walks down a ramp with a wooden field hockey stick, we see him swing the stick on the window causing it to smash. Because he does this the audience can see that this student is a bit rebellious and doesn’t care about getting told off, all of this makes us understand the character more. This could also give us the impression that it is quite a chilled school. While all off this is happening the camera angle is creating a medium-long shot.

NAOMI BUSH U3 AA T2

In the beginning opening scene most of the camera angles are long shots. After we see the boy in the green shirt smashing the window the camera zooms out and we see the students playing outside of the building mostly all the students are wearing the white shirt and tie but are also wearing their own coloured coat/jacket over the top. After that the camera fades into a small groups of girls dancing, two of the girls are wearing coloured jumpers overs their shirts and the other is just wearing a plain black body warmer. One of the girls is wearing a coloured checked shirt instead of the white school shirt. They are all wearing bright hopped earrings as well. This again will give the impression to the audience that the school is chilled and maybe come across as quite a rough area.

The camera again fades out of the girls and goes onto a medium shot on a older student wearing a camouflage jacket
