We have been sharing in the commitment to provide weekend food
for 35 Gladden Elementary students who would otherwise go without
enough to eat. $200 per child per year seems like a small price for
such a great benefit to the child.
If you would like to give a monetary donation to help us fund this
much needed program, you may drop your donation in the offering
plate on Sunday morning (clearly notate that it is for “backsnack”),
or mail a check to our office at PO Box 167, Belton, MO 64012, or
click here to donate online and enter your contribution in the
BackSnack Fund on the donation page.
Thanks for caring so much about feeding Belton’s kids!

Pack 210 or Troop 210 are selling trash bags for $10 a roll. Also 15 paper
lawn and leaf bags for $10. Please pick up an order form envelope
from the info table and place it and your payment in the offering plate
or turn in to the office. It will be forwarded to the Scouts for delivery.
They have a limited supply in stock and will fill orders subject to
availability each Sunday. Any not in stock will be ordered and
delivered in May. Thanks for your support of our Scouts.
We are in the planning stages for Vacation Bible School 2018, to be held
Monday through Friday, July 23rd to July 27th from 6pm to 8pm. This year’s
theme is “The God Squad”, loosely based on PBS’s “The Odd Squad”, so our
scientific agents will be solving cases while learning the Bible stories each day.
Our mission project will be to raise funds for The Heifer Project. We may have
some real, live animals on hand for that part of the evening!
There will be a free meal each evening at 5:30pm, prior to the opening
assembly. Pastor Sid Robbins has penned our bible story skits for each day
and we have a new element this year, in keeping with our theme. We will
have an “Escape Room” in place of our games rotation and it should be a
LOT of fun! As always, we will have our music, crafts, and science rotations,
and will also offer VBS for teens again (7th grade and up).
If you are interested in serving at VBS 2018, please see Cathy Parks or Cindy
Jones. We will soon have registration available for children to sign up. Hope
to see you at this year’s Vacation Bible School!

Please keep bringing your Best Choice bar code labels and place
them in the glass jar on the information table in the sanctuary or in the
plastic container in the reception area.
We also collect Box Tops for Education labels for Gladden Elementary.
You may place them in the same container but it would be helpful if
you could separate them in a baggie or envelope if possible.
Thanks for your support of these projects to help children that are
hungry!

Acts 9:1-9 “Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out
murderous threats against the LORD's
disciples. He went to the high priest and
asked him for letters to the synagogues in
Damascus, so that if he found any there who
belonged to the Way, whether men or
women, he might take them as prisoners to
Jerusalem. As he neared Damascus on his
journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed
around him. He fell to the ground and heard
a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you
persecute me?" "Who are you, LORD?" Saul
asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are
persecuting," he replied. "Now get up and go
into the city, and you will be told what you
must do." The men traveling with Saul stood
there speechless; they heard the sound but
did not see anyone. Saul got up from the
ground, but when he opened his eyes he
could see nothing. So they led him by the
hand into Damascus. For three days he was
blind, and did not eat or drink anything.”

We are planning a Potluck Dinner following our worship service this Sunday,
April 15th. Please bring either a main dish OR a side dish OR a dessert. But
don’t worry if you aren’t able to bring a dish, as there will be plenty of food, s
plan to stay for some food, fellowship, fun, and folk dancing! Yes, that’s right!
Folk dancing (if you WANT to, that is, though it’s not required that you
dance! ) So save the date and join us this Sunday, April 15th!
Our church youth group will continue collecting and recycling aluminum
cans as an ongoing fundraiser and way to help the environment. So
please rinse your empties and deposit them in the designated recycling
containers by the front doors. The Youth Group thanks you!
