* Specialized in producing re-bars and sections .

* Constructed at the beginning of the seventieth by a French company

( Creusot – Liore )and commissioned in 1980 .

* Because of the embargo of )1991 -2003 ( the

production was very limited. * Completely stopped due to the

events of 2003 happened in Iraq.

Plants History

1-Electrical power units:

* Two power transmission lines of Khor Alzubair 400/132 KV from

power station through the national grid .

* It is located 8 Km to the south of the company .

* These lines are capable for power

transmission of about 200 MVA .

UTILITIES

2-Raw water unit * The Company owns a separate

raw water pumping station for

in Abu-Alkhaseeb city .

* The station capacity is up to 6000

M3/hr.

* Two separate pipe lines (700

, and 900 mm pipe dia , of

each of about 35 Km.(

3 -Natural gas unit : * A separate pipe line for natural gas that is connected to the main line of

Khor-Al- Zubair network .

* The available gas pressure is 37 Kg/cm2 and Gas quantity can reach up to 75 million cubic feet/ day.

4 -Shades and buildings: The company comprises many production workshops, for

services, stores, and others, are in a very good conditions .

Unloading sea yard-:

- A special yards in Khor-Al-Zubair

seaport for transformation iron ore pellets ,

sponge iron and scrap .

- These yards are connected to the site

through a double road of about 7 Km

length.

Transportation unit 5- Railways and streets:

* Separate railway line connected to

Basrah - Um Qaser line .

* A complete network of railways

inside the company site including stores, scrap yards and lime kiln

yard .

* Also a separate motorway road

connecting the company to Um-

Qaser high way.

Plant Data

The company consists mainly of the followings : 1 -Melt shop plant: four electric arc furnaces each of 70 tons capacity ,

casting machines 35 MVA transformer and 2 X 6 strands continues for billet size ( 100, 120, 150) mm. The design capacity is supposed to

be 440,000 tons / year of billets , lime kiln scrap preparation and charging section.

2 -DRI plant (direct reduced Iron): Two units (Big and Small unit) each of tow modules, four reactors each (HYL1 process) and other

The total production is 1.2 million tons /year. facilities.

3 -Rolling Mill plant: With two lines, one for re-bars and light sections (Including a wire rod production line of dia 8,10 mm)

, the other for medium sections. The total productivity is

400,000 tons/year as finished products.

4 -Supporting departments: including the quality control , central , quality management, enviromental …….etc workshope

Product range


* It is established in the seventieth, in UM QASER city comprising

two production machines, the plant had been upgraded in the eighteenths through installing a third production machine and PE

coating line by a productivity of 90,000 t/y. * Now the plant is working after complete rehabilitation by installing

new production line imported from (W&K) a German company using

technology "double stage method" in which forming of pipe and final

welding is done in a separate machines, the new productivity reachs up

to 200,000 t/y.

Spirally Welded Steel Pipe Plant

* Iocal or /and foreign invistors are inviteded to participate in

a complete job for upgrading and rehabilitation of production

units and other services of the existing workshops by utilizing

the existing infrastructure.

*This call represents a part of the ministry policy to promote

and encourage investment in different industrial branches.

1-Steel making plants :

* steel manufacturing is considered as one of the most important

industrial branches for and infrastructure will be an essential part

of Iraqi reconstruction program.

* An investment contract with (UP HOLDING) a Turkish company

on development 6/11/2013.

* The contract includes the upgrading of existing plants by installing

new production equipments and utilities to reach a capacity of

1 million t/y. the project include also an electrial power station.13

Complex Project For Iron & Steel in The Industrial City of Basrah

Factories are proposed

1 - steel wires plant 150 thousand tons per year .2 - heavy sections iron + Railway plant 600 000 tons per year. .3 - medium sections plant 750 thousand tons per year .4 - HRC+ Plate plant 1300 thousand tons per year 5- spiral pipe welding or seamless pipe plant 200 thousand tons

per year. 6 - longitudinally welding pipe plant 300 thousand tons per year.

7 - power generation 500 megabytes.
