Besides UMTS 2100MHz (Band I), ZTE also supports UMTS 850MHz (Band V), UMTS 900MHz

(Band VIII), AWS (Band IV), UMTS 1800MHz (Band III) and UMTS 1900MHz (Band II) frequency

band. In addition, it can support customized frequency bands to satisfy customer requirements.

Node B supports other frequency bands through replacing the RF unit of the corresponding

frequency band, and RNC supports other frequency bands through changing the corresponding

radio parameter configuration. For example, to broadcast AWS frequency information, SIB5bis is

used in system information to take the place of SIB5.

    1. Parameters setting in RNC

Configure several cells with different bands. These cells belong to the same NodeB. In this test

guide, we just takes Band I and Band VIII for an example.

Configuration ->UTRAN Cell-> UTRAN Cell XXX-> Frequency Band Indicator

Path: View->Configuration Management->Management Element > UMTS Logical Function

    Configuration ->UTRAN Cell-> UTRAN Cell XXX-> DUARFCN

Configuration U900M cell1s Frequency Band as VIII, and DUARFCN as 3050:

    ----Frequency Band Indicator: Band VIII

    ----DUARFCN: 3050

This parameter configures the frequency band of a cell. The pictures above take BAND VIII for

example. Once frequency band indicator is chosen, DUARFCN of this cell must be set in the range

of the band. The DUARFCN here in BAND VIII is 3050.

Configuration another U2.1G cell2s Frequency Band as Band I, and DUARFCN as 10612:

    1.6 Steps for test

    1. UE1 registers in cell1. Cell1 belongs to RRU1 (type: R8860 GU906). UE1 makes a voice call in

cell1. The rrcConnectionSetupmessage indicates cell1s UARFCN UL is 2825 and DL is 3050,

    which belongs to BAND VIII.

The rrcConnectionSetupCompletemessage indicates that UE1 supports Band I (fdd2100) and

    Band VIII.

The CS service procedure is the same as the general CS service procedure. Please refer to

ZWF21-02-001 CS Conversational RAB for AMR Speechfor details.

    2. UE1 registers in cell2. Cell2 belongs to RRU2(type: R8840). RRU2 and RRU1 belong to the sameNodeB. UE1 makes a voice call in cell2. The rrcConnectionSetupmessage indicates cell2s

UARFCN UL is 9662 and DL is 10612, which belongs to BAND I.

    3. The basic services are normal in cell1 and cell2. Multi-band support function is normal.

    1.7 Expected results

The two cells is setup successfully, and voice call is normally in cell1 and cell2.
