Your task for today is

persuasive writing piece.

You are to brainstorm both

reasons FOR and AGAINST

week. Try to write at least 3

reasons for each. I have

provided an example in the

Science (Food and Fibre) Task 1 : Describe what would happen to plants if the following things were to happen: 1. The soil got flooded with water. 2. A big storm came through a crop of wheat. 3. The sun is always blocked by clouds. 4. The soil became acidic. (or like vinegar) 5. There was a plague of locusts or grasshoppers. If you do not know, discuss with parents or research what this means. Task 2: As an extra task this term, plant some seeds and grow your own beans or peas. Take notes every day or every second day to record your observations of growth. Enjoy the experience of growing your own food.

What do we do during these celebrations? Where did this celebration come from? How do families celebrate differently? Task 1: Write down 5 different family celebrations you have participated in. These may include Birthdays, Weddings, Funerals, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Graduations. Task 2: You will write about a celebration that your family participates in. This should be at least a paragraph long. Draw a picture once you are finished. Remember to include: •Who is involved? •How is it celebrated? •Why is it a celebrated? •What special symbols are represented at your celebration? •What food is eaten? •Is there special music played? •Is there traditional clothing that needs to be worn?
