Clive NyawoBusiness Management Student

After receiving an offer to complete a three-month marketing internship role with Direct Line Group at their Bromley headquarters, I took the opportunity and never looked back. I worked as a Marketing Consultant, supporting the Senior Campaign and Engagement Manager and the wider Customer Marketing team in planning and implementing monthly data-driven campaigns. My biggest motivation during this opportunity was the responsibility that came with the role, i.e. getting involved in creative projects, teamwork and the ability to draw a connection between my efforts and the organisation’s bottom line.

Working in such a big company exposed me to a number of different business units, where I got to meet new people and learn relevant future skills. I feel like this experience has given me more confidence in my approach to life and, above all, my biggest takeaway is that communication and teamwork are critical for success.

We believe getting hands-on experience is an important part of your time as a student, helping you to stand out from other graduates when applying for jobs. That’s why we guarantee the offer of an internship opportunity when you’ve met certain criteria, and those of you who meet the eligibility criteria will be our top priority. However, if you haven’t met the criteria for the guarantee itself, we still encourage you to do an internship if you can and will work with you to help try and source one.
