What is YTPY?

► Young Tax Professional of

the Year (YTPY) is an

international competition for

outstanding students to

demonstrate their technical

tax and professional skills.

► The winner of the final

international competition will

be named the Young tax

professional of the year.

What is in it for Students?

Training ► All shortlisted students will receive an “Introduction to International tax”

course.

Experience ► Meet with leading figures in the profession and start an influential network

including EY, corporate, academia, tax administration and policy regulatory

bodies.

► All shortlisted candidates can go directly to the online test of EY internship

and/or graduate tax program

Coaching ► Finalists will meet with EY tax executives to receive career guidance and

insights about the tax profession

► Country winner will receive presentation coaching prior to entering the

International Final

Undergraduates in penultimate or final year, or postgraduates

YPTY – Hong Kong

Finalists in HK will be awarded direct entries to online test for

internship/ graduate program

• HK$8,000 in cash

• 6-week paid internship or conditional offer of employment with EY HK office

• Represent HK in the national competition (flight and accommodation included)

• HK$6,000 in cash

• 6-week paid internship or conditional offer of employment with EY HK office.

• Represent HK in the national competition (flight and accommodation included)

• HK$4,000 in cash

• 6-week paid internship or conditional offer of employment with EY HK office.

International competition

► The international competition will

always be held in conjunction

with the Annual International

Congress of the IFA

(International Fiscal Association).

It is a neutral platform and

therefore enhances link to OECD

and Tax administrations and

provides a holistic approach to

the profession.

► International competition took place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

from 29 November to 3 December 2015. During the international

final, the successful country finalists will work closely with people

from other cultures and backgrounds. The 2016 International

location is yet to confirm.

Prizes for international competition winners

► Personal experience as well as connection and understanding of the

various markets and EY’s position

• A 30-day world trip including 10-days of organised visits to EY Centres in key markets (London, Washington D.C. and Hong Kong).

1st prize

• A 10-day organized visit to one of the Area Tax Centres or Hubs (i.e. London, Africa)

2nd prize

• Participation in an EY International Client Conference –Service Line or geography (i.e. International Tax Conference, Africa Client Conference, etc.)
