YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAMSTrinity College, the University of Melbourne, has been running Young Leaders Programs since 2001. Who knew someone could learn so much in one week, not only academically, but about themselves? The Young Leaders Program was an absolutely amazing experience that has opened my eyes to the world … I have learnt vital leadership skills and in the process made some life-long friends from all over the globe. The sports management and development stream is perfect for anyone who is interested in the sports industry. It is an all round incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who is given the opportunity. This exposure to an unknown country gave me the strength to believe in myself … Interactions with people,

which I didn’t know existed, gave me the courage and confidence to move in the world without being scared and shy; that’s what I

was at the beginning. For me, the Young Leaders Programs were a once-in-a-lifetime chance and they really transformed me into

who I was supposed to be rather than who I was.Saba Ali, Hyderabad, Pakistan

As an introvert, I thought it would be impossible for me to blend in, or even actually talk to anyone … I was wrong. With the rate at which so many brilliant individuals and characters throw themselves at you, I guarantee you won’t be left alone. During the two weeks in Trinity, I learnt heaps of things, made lots of friends and explored many undiscovered aspects of myself. It’s funny how such a short trip could leave such an impact on me … The Young Leaders Programs were really a once-in-a-lifetime experience.Ly Nguyen Hoa Hiep, My Tho, VietnamTien Giang High School for the Gifted, Arts and Leadership for Social Justice
